Country Houses in São Vicente

The camping was lovely, a very well equipped tent also with blankets, electricity, fridge.. There was a laundry service and a shared kitchen and grill. Very welcoming owner, he gave us suggestions for some hikes. Very comfy bed, I slept very well underneath a sky full of stars.

The house was ideal for us, 3 adults, as we could have one bedroom each. That way there was enough space in the bedrooms, with double occupancy it might have been a bit of a squeeze. For a family of 5 or 6 it would also be fine. The house is spacious and has a very nice seasoned, lived-in, and somehow British touch, dating back to the beginning of the 20th century, where the family of the landlady had lived in for many decades and really made it a very comfortable home. It is well equipped, with plenty of dishes, plates and glasses, etc. as you can only find in a house that was really lived in, and not just done up on a small budget for rental. The house is airy and dry, which is not an easy accomplishment on this island, especially in autumn. There is plenty of space in the kitchen, the dining area, the sitting room, and very importantly also on the various terraces all around the house. The house is situated in a nice garden with interesting plants and which is still nicely maintained. The location is beautiful. Not easy to find on your own, so you should take the offer of the landlady to lead you there. Once found, access is easy, also the parking. It is very quiet all around, just a few animals in the early morning, no noise from neighbors or any traffic. Also, there is a nice view down onto the ocean, so you immediately get the feeling that this is a wonderful location for a holiday. Ponta Delgada is not the hub of activity on the island, but it is not very touristy, so nice and calm. Access to most parts of the island are vey easy and quick from here. Therefore an ideal base for all kinds of tours.

The house is big, very comfortable for 8 people, I could even say it easily fits 10 people. The whole property is beautiful. The house is beautifully made, it has a large kitchen with big windows, a big living room, nice bedrooms, one of them even with its own bathroom. Maybe the best part is the very very nice view from the backyard. The host was helpful and communicate. We had a really good time.

Villa is huge and well equipment. You have everything there what you need. (Even slippers and hiking sticks!) You can enjoy the sun and take a dip in an amazing outdoor swimming pool with the incredible view of the village and the ocean. The view is just breathtaking. Ana’s place has a private big parking in front of the house. You have to drive down from the main street, just be careful because GPS was leading us around, from the other side throughout a narrow banana trees alley where you can't pass😅

We loved the quiet and tranquility and Jeff and Alex made us feel very welcome. So lovely of them to offer us wine and avocados on the house and lots of recommendations of where to go, restaurants etc. Made it bit more special. We really hope their business goes really well. The host gave us home made cake and it was delicious! ❤️This place is close to Levada 25 Fontes and Risco waterfall. Also Fanal forest and other levadas are close enough.

We stayed here for two weeks. There’s a fully equipped kitchen (stove, fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, drip coffee machine) with all the pans, utensils, spatulas and cork openers you will ever need. We were pleased to find basic spices, salt, pepper and olive oil already there. Sabino also took care of having coffee, coffee filters, tea, sugar etc. In the kitchen there’s also washing machine with basic detergents available. In the connected living room there’s a big TV, air dehumidifier with a dryer option, a sofa and a table. If someone thinks of remote working there’s also a desk and good internet connection with WiFi. From the balcony we could see the ocean and Porto Santo and from the windows in the living room the mountains. In the garden there’s a place to grill. The bedroom has a large, comfortable bed, cupboard and a hanging rack. We really liked the walk-in shower in the bathroom. House is situated in a very good location, close to the highway and close to many famous and beautiful Levadas (ex. Do Rei, Caldeirão Verde). Apart from that, the biggest upside are the lovely hosts! Sabino greeted us with a basket of local fruits (homegrown in their garden), local sweets and wine! He explained where everything is and how it works. He gave us frequent insight on the weather and guided us to local attractions and hikes. We felt like at home. Couldn’t recommend more!
