I stayed at Casa de Casal de Loivos for two nights with my boyfriend as a getaway weekend. The view is stunning, absolutely beautiful. The room was modern and with all the comforts you could need. You can have dinner at the place for €27,5 (beverages excluded), recommended. The staff was amazing. I hope I can return one day soon.
Provesende (Near Casal de Loivos)
This 17th-century mansion offers contemporary-style rooms with modern comforts in Provesende, a 15-minute drive from Pinhão Train Station. Morgadio da Calçada is 11 km from Douro River.
Accommodation at Morgadio da Calçada is set in former sheds scattered through small patios. They were renovated to provide comfort with parquet floors, satellite TV and wrought-iron beds. Each private bathroom includes free toiletries and a hairdryer.

We had an exceptional stay at Morgadio da Calcada. Daniela was welcoming and her communication leading up to our stay was excellent. The property is a true gem. Beautifully restored buildings make for one of kind guest rooms. Much thought and consideration has been put into the design and details of the rooms and property making for an excellent guest experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the 4 course dinner with wine pairing. Manuel, the owner, and the chef explained the food and wine pairing choices throughout. A wonderful experience dining outdoors as the sun set over the vineyards. Breakfast was fantastic with fresh eggs prepared to your liking. The drive to the property from Pinhão was the most scenic portion of our drive through the Douro Valley. Thank you to the whole team for a wonderful birthday experience.

A stunning view from the hotel room. It is worthy to pay a bit more for a nice clean spacious room. You have the whole Douro River with Winery view in front of the hotel room when you open the curtain. Magnificent!

Our hosts were warm and kind. Our anniversary dinners was yummy and Francisco and Christina made it so special. Papi and Pipa were so much fun! The views were beyond beautiful! We loved the tour of the wine making process, complete with chocolates and tastes. Did we mention the warm bread Francisco brought each morning? We felt pampered and relaxed- the very best ending to our month in Portugal!! 10 stars!!!

So beautiful, so peaceful and so warm. My favorite stay ever! A pristine view over the river and the mountains unmatched in Douro. Sitting on a hammock just enjoying the senses of the terroir, being embraced by nature in all its magnitude. I could have stayed on that moment forever. Silence. Cidalia welcomes you as family, genuine tenderness and so much knowledge to share. The breakfast is amazing, served to you on the terrace by Cidalia’s son, a young and inventive Chef. Two hiking trails depart from the property (8k and 20km for the most brave) and are a great way to discover the region. Last but not least the mattress and pillows are very comfortable! A jewel I wish many of others to find!
