Amazing location with a sea view. If you value peace and quiet this is a perfect place located at the bottom of Pedra da Gàvea and the sea. You can step out from your room and watch sunrise on a sofa. Short Uber drive to metro and local beaches or hiking trial of Pedra da Gàvea. Very convenient location if you're planning to paraglide from Sào Conrado. Monica and Antonio are the best hosts we have ever met. Super friendly and helpful jn every aspect. We hope to see you again soon.
The pool, it was lovely, really peaceful and very quiet despite the fact that you're right next to the airport. It was also very handy, as they offer a shuttle to the airport free of charge which is less than five minutes away. Staff really friendly.
The building was built in the 1940s, obviously having been renovated since, and in a very stylish way. Modern infrastructure perfectly espouses the classic style of the mansion. The view from the rooms is quite nice, half of the PPC favela, half on the bay of Rio, and the view from the rooftop pool and terrace was even more breathtaking.
Peaceful ambiance and retro decoration, plenty of books around to borrow and read by the pool.
An absolute gem in Santa Teresa with views over Guanabara Bay to Niteroi (unlike Aprazivel and Tereze which have northern views). Most discreet mansion house on a hill furnished with the best of Brazilian modern (1950s-1960s) furniture. Delightful pool area, just accept the occasional road noise to remind you are in a town (but where don't you in Rio?). But very quiet at night. It's a must for those with good taste/de bon gout.
The location was great, an easy walk to beautiful Santa Teresa and to the nightlife of Lapa. Staff were friendly and helpful, the pool area and poolside bar were great and it felt luxurious and peaceful in the middle of Rio. My bedroom was huge (and a huge bed!) and there were so many layers to this hotel (spa, shop, bars etc) I didn't even have time to explore them all. I loved staying here.
We stayed in this hostel for 4 nights during Carnival 2023. The host was very helpful and informative upon arrival. Security was excellent and we felt safe at all times. The hostel was quiet and peaceful despite carnival being on outside. Good breakfast and chilled common area. The dorms were large and had working WiFi and air-conditioning
Monique is a lovely host and the room is very comfortable. Location excellent, short walk to restaurants, tram line, or downtown. Quiet and peaceful neighbourhood.
