Very responsive and helpful with questions. The property itself was very well kept, clean and equipped with all the needed amenities. In proximity to the airport (about 20 mins drive), the area has supermarket and restaurants in walking distance. One thing to remember, Funchal is all about uphill and downhill roads and pathways, so gear up for a good work out when walking and indeed a slow rollercoaster. I highly recommend this place!

The property is situated 19 km from Santana's traditional houses, 23 km from Marina do Funchal and 33 km from Girao Cape. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and Sao Roque Beach is 500 metres away. The house is located in a small back alley with lots of friendly neighbours and a lively welcoming atmosphere. The house itself is just beautiful and there's absolutely nothing missing, there's so much love in every detail and you can really feel like home. We spent our Christmas there and were overwhelmed by all the small treats (fruits, fantastic homemade cookies and lots more) and decoration. The sleeping room has an electric heater in case it gets really cold, the kitchen is fully (like home) equipped and you can even do your laundry. There's public free parking very close by and you can easily walk everywhere in Machico (shopping, cafes, restaurants). We enjoyed sitting in the backyard which is very calm and full of life at the same time. Whenever we met Luisa, she was up for a chat and took so much care of us - she is a star! We would definitely choose again and can recommend to everyone who likes staying in a lively neighbourhood (quiet at night) in a traditional house.

Breakfast was great too. Very welcoming.

The nearest airport is Cristiano Ronaldo Madeira International Airport, a few steps from the accommodation. Everything was superlative... The location, facilities and kindness of the host were the best possible. Do not hesitate to ask for any information the host and you will be helped with the greatest promptness. We are coming back, definitely in Madeira and definitely at Villas Madalena.
