The space was very comfortable with two couches, a gas fire place which I loved sitting next to and reading a book, and a nice dining area. The bed and bathroom were great as well. It was a short trip to the national park for the alpine crossing. They very kindly gave me the fixings to make sandwiches for my hike the next day. If you're in this area, I highly recommend staying here.

Separate cabin was great, smack bang in the middle of kune. Having spa on-site brilliant, shame it was extra $$ though. Nice comfortable restaurant attached. All in one bed, massage, spa, sauna, food, drink within premise
The location close to many restaurants. Access to the spa and sauna. It was warm cosy and clean, staff were so polite and welcoming
I liked the room - it was cosy and spacious. Lodge is nice and has this "mountain touch". The kitchen was great and perfectly equipped. The beds were super comfortable. Howard's Lodge is the best place when you plan to visit Tongariro. Communication with personnel was ok even though we haven't met anyone.l :D
Absolutely gorgeous! Awesome owners, very cozy cabins, hot pools to use, we absolutely loved our stay!
The view was incredible, the hot tub amazing and the the cabin itself a dream. We loved the pool table, piano and the kitchen and pantry were very spacious and a joy to cook in.
The backyard was very cute! And the whole house. The whole house was very cozy. There was also a fireplace, but we didn't use it.
Very charming Lodge - the owner was super nice and gave us some great recommendations for hiking/ walks
Tidy, beautifully made cabins. The manager/owner of the bussines is a very friendly and fun person, always willing to help. Views of the mountain and the surrounding urban land are very beautiful. Beakfast was nice. The fireplace kept the cabin very warm at night. Hot tub was real fun, too.
Friendly staff, homey ski lodge/cabin feel, hot tub was great after the alpine crossing.
The Powderhorn really gives you that mountain cabin feel. It’s warm and cozy and everything is really nicely done. The bar is amazing with a vast craft beer selection and an awesome fireplace in the middle.
