On entering, the house was crisp, clean and homely. We felt right at home, everything we needed was there even the exact coffee machine I have at home! Access to the beach was excellent and we were only 10 or so minutes out of Tākaka which is so convenient.

We thoroughly enjoyed the welcoming and chatty hosts, the amazing home-cooked breakfast, the prime location, the wooden hot spas, the wood stove sauna, the cozy lounge area, the outdoor kitchen, and the beautifully consistent Southern European style throughout, not to mention the company of the very friendly and cuddly cats! We had an incredible weekend! It was an excellent experience and great value for money—we will definitely return!
It was a historical Inn lovingly restored to incorporate a lot of the history of the building. The room was very comfortable with a beautiful rural view. The shared spaces were spotlessly clean and the roaring fire in the dining area gave the place a cosy feel. Helen and Clint were so friendly and hospitable and Helen’s breakfast was very generous. The dinner cooked by the local chef, Sebastian, was also excellent. We both really enjoyed socialising over shared meals with other guests too.

Saint Arnaud was a last minute decision at the end of a trip and I wish we could've stayed longer. The cabins were cosy and the staff were so helpful and lovely, even over the super busy Easter weekend. Great restaurant attached for an early breakfast, quick coffee or a wine, and short walk to the lake and hiking trails.
Great location, Scott was super friendly and very attentive. The place was very clean and nice to have outdoor private space. The location of the hot tub was also a bonus, with Mountain View’s in the background. The lodge is within walking distance of the facilities in marahau so a nice break from driving. The lodge can also provide a packed lunch and breakfast if needed which was helpful for hiking days.
We had only booked for one night and regretted that we could not stay longer, because the bungalow was really very cozy. It was wonderfully quiet and the view of the meadows and mountains was beautiful. The house was well equipped and clean. Nothing was missing. We can only recommend the Tophouse Mountainview Cottages.
Wonderful hosts and truly lovely cottage with access to spa including hot tubs, plenty of activities to do in the region and Takaka is a very unique town!

Amazing spot to explore Abel Tasman. The cabins are super nice & the shared facilities are cozy with even a fireplace in one kitchen.
Stunning value for money, friendliest hosts, incredible breakfast and use of the outdoor hot tub and sauna. This was a charming and special place to stay, one of the highlights of our trip.
