We had house number 5, very spacious, big very comfy bed. We loved the little lounge area where they serve breakfast and a selection of drinks and snacks throughout the day. We had a hire car and parked in the car park almost opposite, very reasonably priced. Great base to then explore Kyoto. We did also utilise nearby stations to get around. You are not super close to the very popular tourist areas but all very accessible and it suited us to have a quieter escape as the city was very busy coming into peak blossom time. I literally liked everything The cleanses the beds the apartment and the stuff were very helpful and polite also i liked the location ,,,, it far from center but its quite and calm and around it 3 to 4 market (one of them in front of you ) also near bus station (like 2 min by foot ) and for train station ( 10 by foot ) And the best thing it is very close to Arashiyama area I really recommend it

We were welcomed by great staff who spoke English very well, making our settling in quick and easy after a long trip. The wooden decor throughout the place created a warm and comfortable atmosphere, further enhanced by a quaint garden right inside. Its location is a winner, nestled in the historical part of Kyoto, making most popular tourist attractions easily accessible. Staying in Kiyomizu 1 was a treat with a beautiful view over the Yasaka Pagoda from the second floor. The very unique Japanese breakfast experience was a delightful start to our day, introducing us to local flavors and customs. We cherished our stay and Campton Kiyomizu will be a choice destination whenever we find ourselves in Kyoto again.

The staff were wonderful and very attentive. A true traditional town house that perfectly matches the Kyoto culture. The property was close to many restaurants and cafes. The Macha tea ceremony was great at our Arrival. A bonus.

BenTen Residences offer a Japanese machiya accommodation in the heart of Higashiyama, Kyoto. Yasaka Shrine is 7 minutes on foot, while Kiyomizu Temple is a 14-minute stroll. BenTen Residences was featured as 1 of the Top 10 vacation homes in 2017 by Dwell. Free WiFi access is provided throughout the entire property. It really is quite a special place - has been renovated beautifully and everything thought of. Comfortable, practical and clever use of the small footprint.
