A quiet little escape from busy, tourist packed Kyoto, perfect for our four night stay in Kyoto end March. Very reasonably priced compared to many of the Kyoto hotels. We had house number 5, very spacious, big very comfy bed. We loved the little lounge area where they serve breakfast and a selection of drinks and snacks throughout the day. We had a hire car and parked in the car park almost opposite, very reasonably priced. Great base to then explore Kyoto. We did also utilise nearby stations to get around. You are not super close to the very popular tourist areas but all very accessible and it suited us to have a quieter escape as the city was very busy coming into peak blossom time. For added privacy, the accommodation features a private entrance. Very beautiful old style Japanese local house but mixed with modern style. An entire house is fabulous with the view and place. Nice free space for living room and table tennis. The relaxing space next to the sea is very good vibe. The staff is very helpful to explain everything in the house, provide the house tour and help to manage dinner and breakfast.

The property is 500 metres from the city centre and less than 1 km from Nijo Castle. Everything was new and clean. Location is also good, close to Nijo castle and with good connection to other areas.

I literally liked everything The cleanses the beds the apartment and the stuff were very helpful and polite also i liked the location ,,,, it far from center but its quite and calm and around it 3 to 4 market (one of them in front of you ) also near bus station (like 2 min by foot ) and for train station ( 10 by foot ) And the best thing it is very close to Arashiyama area I really recommend it

The house was very traditional but had modern amenities (they even included a washing machine and a hair straightener!), the staff were all super kind and the food (breakfast and dinner) were both delicious true japanese meals. There were two onsen in our room (one inside and one outside) so you could choose which one you preferred depending on the temperature. The ryokan’s location was walking distance to the centre, while there were bars / restaurants / convenience stores nearby where you could pick up anything you wanted. Still, when inside the house you felt as if you were in a very quiet neighborhood - far away from the noise of the city centre. The hotel also offers to help ship your luggage to your next location.

It’s on a lovely quiet street and is a bit of an oasis in a busy city. The washing machine was particularly appreciated as was the onsen style downstairs bathroom. All very comfortable
