Goodrich
Situated in Goodrich, the recently renovated Jollys of Goodrich features accommodation 31 km from Kingsholm Stadium and 8.3 km from Wilton Castle. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. The holiday home has family rooms. We had a very relaxing three night stay at Jolly's cottage which was immaculately clean with fresh decor carpets etc and well equipped kitchen, Good off road parking, There is an upmarket pub in the village - we chose to walk to the alternative Cross Keys for a meal (including vegan). The majestic Goodrich Castle ruin (English Heritage) is in the village, and emergency supplies can be picked up in the next village on the A road, Morrisons, Sainsburys or Aldi in Ross. We used the cottage as a base to kayak on the rapids at Symonds Yat a very short 5 min drive away (we launched at Wyedean Adventure - pay for parking and launching). We also did a short 2 hour river trip from the public park at the Hope and Anchor, Ross on Wye down to the Parish Canoe Launch at Kerne Bridge (in the village not at the bridge) with the added bonus of a regular morning public bus service shuttle back to Ross from just outside the launch. It is usually possible to paddle upstream from all three points. Other attractions are available, including walks along the Wye. If you don't have boats or paddle boards with you, several open canoe liveries offer out and back or point to point rental on what is normally a gentle summer river with shallow rapids. You must have, or hire, a buoyancy aid to launch at Wyedean.

Lovely cottage with a lovely kitchen and facilities really enjoyed learning how to use a log burner for those cosy nights in! Loved seeing the sheep casually walking across the drive with her babies in tow
Lovely cottage and a great base for our holiday. Close to Forest of Dean and beautiful walks. Property was comfortable & clean and had probably the best equipped kitchen I’ve seen in a holiday rental making it easy to cook a roast dinner for Easter. The joy of sharp knives and a dishwasher with salt & rinse aid! Electric car charging was a big draw and owner charged and a not for profit rate. Comfortable & cozy beds and large garden.
It was so cosy and spacious, with a beautiful garden. It felt like staying in a home, not some fancy holiday cottage.
Lovely Cottage, very cosy and has everything you need lots of thought in to all the little extras to make it home from home, the log fire was lovely and a real plus coming from a gas central heating it was a nice touch for cosy nights in by the fire.
Lovely cottage that did not disappoint. Very clean with all you need. Owners were also very welcoming and very quick to respond the questions I had. Cosy outside space.
We had a couple of facility issues when we arrived but Jo couldn't have been more charming and resolved very quickly. The cottage is very spacious inside and tastefully decorated and yet with a cosy feel. The terrace is set off from the owners garden and lovely suntrap, but quite steep steps, so be mindful if small children. I also noticed a BBQ not that we used it but great to know for another time. Stunning walks in the area and the Rising Sun is lovely for Sunday lunch - delicious.
Fabulous cozy cottage with well equipped kitchen. Thoughtful welcome pack with fresh eggs, milk & biscuits to suit everyone. Great location to attractions & exploring the countryside.
The location was great and the area was so quiet, peaceful and pretty. You can park the car up for the weekend with lots of walks and local pubs. The cottage/lodge was so warm and cosy and spotlessly clean with linen and toiletries included. I would definitely revisit.
Well positioned cottage. Friendly owners. Lovely little cottage, very cosy. Hot tub is a great addition, also little area with bbq available.
