We were lucky (and honored) to be the first(!) guests at Javardo, and this place was so much more than what we expected. From the moment we drove down the path that leads to the house, it was clear we were in for a treat. This secluded farmhouse offers an escape like no other, providing a tranquil haven far removed from the clamor of daily life. The farmhouse itself exudes rustic charm, with cozy, well-appointed interiors. The rooms boast unique touches that reflect the care and passion of the owners, from the handpicked antiques collected from all over the world to the soft, inviting linens that promise a restful night's sleep. Moreover, the hospitality provided by the hosts was second to none. They were attentive yet respectful of our privacy. Outside, the magic is also felt everywhere. Other than the amazing view of the Douro river, on the farmhouse grounds there are pools, orchards, hidden seating spots and even a small forest - and they are all just for you to use and stroll around. For those looking to reconnect with nature, or simply to find a quiet spot to relax and unwind, Javardo is a perfect choice. It provides not just a place to stay, but a delightful experience that lingers in the memory long after departure. This place truly captures the essence of a pastoral idyll. Javardo Family House is more than just a stay - it's a gateway to tranquility. A visit here is not just recommended - it's essential. We were talking about going back there while we were still there, and I'm sure we will.

We absolutely loved our stay at Quinta de Cabanas. Rui and Elizabeth are fantastic hosts that will make everything in their power to make your stay unforgettable and to make you feel at home. As for the place, this one has absolutely exceeded all our expectations, that was a fantastic experience to be able to privatize an entire boutique hotel just for ourselves. Everything was just perfect, we had the comfort of an hotel and the intimacy of a private home. All the rooms were cosy and each room had its own bathroom and we're equipped with A/C and heat. We really loved this last point, because we never felt cold during our stay, neither in our room nor the common spaces. Common spaces which we also really appreciated, this was cool to have spaces where to gather during the day. We particularly appreciate the dinner area with the huge table with a capacity of 20 persons. That was perfect for our dinners and the breakfast. We loved to have been able to have dinner altogether in the same time. We also have absolutely loved our experience with Elizabeth and her team, who offered us her service as a private chef. They have prepared an amazing dinner for us, all the dishes were delicious made with fresh and local products. And Elizabeth had even baked a fabulous birthday cake for our friend. This was such a kind and lovely gesture, we were really moved by that. And last but not least, we loved our stay at Quinta de Cabanas for all the amazing infrastructures on site, such as the private padel court, the indoor and outdoor pool, the gym, the spa room (we all loved the treatments that we had with Antonio, who is an amazing therapist), the ping pong table, the pool table, there is also an outdoor playground for kids. REALLY QUINTA DE CABANAS HAS IT ALL! We can only recommend this amazing place. Thank you again Rui and Elizabeth for everything, your hospitality, your kindness towards us and for having us in your home.

Amazing views & lovely house with everything we needed. Everyone had a fantastic holiday. The only decisions were whether to swim in the pool or the river which was surprisingly warm. We loved watching the river cruise boats go past too! It is a remote and very peaceful location which was exactly what we were looking for. Lovely sandy beach below the house. Awoken to cockerels and sheep bells tinkling! A rural idyll. Shops & supermarkets in Cinfaes only 10 to 15 min drive away.

The location is great, quiet with amazing views. The house is nice, lots of natural light, plenty of space in the common areas. Great for family vacations with kids.

Very nice owner who was very helpfull, pleasant and has very cute two dogs! Acommodation is very nice, well furnished, with kitchen, nice bathroom, large bed and beautifull terrace with the river view.

We had the best stay for 3 nights, could not have been more welcomed and the staff were very friendly and happy to help. Organised trips for us to enjoy the best of the Duoro Valley and always on hand if needed. The pool area is beautiful and amazing to relax in and the rooms are spacious with a balcony with stunning views. Food was delicious. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the Duoro Valley
