The house is very beautiful, the interior and the furniture lets you immerse in the history of the place. However, it was well equipped with all the facilities, needed in the modern life (air conditioning in each room, coffee machine, good WiFi). The host was super friendly and always ready to help. Very close to railway station on the legendary Douro line - the river is reached in just 10 mins. This means are car not necessary (though warning nearest supermarket is an uphill trek!) The house is in a beautiful setting with the pool being the centrepiece. Appreciated the heating on the cold autumn evenings.
