Ideal for short stays. It has a compostable toilet, for those who have never had experience it might be difficult to accept. It is fully equipped, it does not have a kitchen, just a microwave, a fridge and an external grill, it is better to get food that is not to be cooked on the stove, as if it rains the external grill cannot be used.

We loved everything about this place. It felt really spacious despite its size and had absolutely everything that we needed.
Right next to the forest so we were able to walk there every day.
We would definitely stay here again.

Quaint cottage.
Very comfy shared lounge and dining space.
Generous continental breakfast provided with fruit.
Very friendly, welcoming hosts.
You will not be cold (heater works well)!
Really enjoyed its location in Raetihi. Right in the midst of the historical precinct which includes the recently restored 1919 movie theatre. We had lots of eating options. Went to both of the cafes and they had a good selection of food and were reasonably priced. On the Friday night we went to the nearby Cosmopolitan Club and had an excellent meal and spoke to some extremely friendly locals
A great break away!
The view was incredible, the hot tub amazing and the the cabin itself a dream. We loved the pool table, piano and the kitchen and pantry were very spacious and a joy to cook in.
It truly live up to its name - a historic town, a VERY cosy studio fitted out with very modern facilities. A hidden gem, and very convenient for us to explore that part of New Zealand. The bed was super comfy, the toilet bathroom was great, the kitchenette had everything we needed.
Our 6 years old loves this place so much that he listed it as the second fun experience of our NZ trip(Skyline luge took the first place). There are farm animals and flowers around the lodge and it's really comfy, the owners are very friendly. Looking forward to going back in a winter.
I prefer staying in cottage style accommodation due to the relaxed homely feel. The breakfast is exceptional with plenty left over for brunch on the mountain. The gas fire gets the room heated up fast and provides that log cabin ambience. Plenty of DVD's and board games for families too. Hosts are very friendly and go over and above to help. Really enjoyed my short stay.
So many thoughtful touches, a fantastic breakfast, cosy cottage with the fire on when we arrived. Under floor heating in the bathrooms. And amazing hosts! Truly loved our stay.
The hosts were exceptionally friendly, welcoming and helpful. The cottage itself was charming and very comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and delightful.
