The location was great and easy to find. We only stayed one night, which was a shame as we'd have loved to stay longer. The kitchen was well equipped, and things like clingfilm and foil were available. We cooked and used the dishwasher, so again, it was great to have all that available. Loved the outside shower, although we didn't use it.
They provide kids buckets and spades for hotwater beach. The beds were comfortable too.
They also provided a great little selection of books for kids and a couple of games.

This was my second time staying. The place has everything you need for a great getaway away - both short and long term. The view is beautiful and it’s an easy walk to the local favourite Lukes Kitchen as well as the local store and cafe. Also an easy drive to Matarangi, would definitely suggest staying here!
Cottages are perfect for travellers who enjoy feeling cosy and independent in the countryside. Usually small, traditionally built houses, cottages spread across one or two floors, making them great for families, or holidays with a little more privacy.
Great stay - charming apartment in a gorgeous location. Opito Bay is stunning and the hosts at Leighton Lodge made us comfortable and welcome. They were really helpful when an extreme weather event made us rearrange our plans and also gave excellent suggestions of things to do in the area.
