Stone Cottage, hotel in Nenagh

Featuring inner courtyard views, Stone Cottage features accommodation with a garden, a bar and barbecue facilities, around 15 km from Lough Derg Yacht Club.

This home was absolutely spectacular. We rented it for a group of 6, as we were attending a wedding nearby. We almost skipped the wedding because we didn’t want to leave! A peaceful haven off the main roads, and really in the heart of the Tipperary countryside. We could have spent the day outside on the covered patio. There were even cows over the ditch! The building itself appears newly renovated, but oozing with the traditional build and the extension is nothing short of a journey! Natural light flowing all day. I’d imagine a super place for a group of 8-10 people for a quiet getaway or small, family/friends celebration. We are deciding our excuse to return! Margaret was super to deal with, besides not meeting her, we felt very much welcomed and at home! Thanks a million!

Lackaroe Cottage, hotel in Nenagh

Lackaroe Cottage is set in Garrykennedy, 36 km from The Hunt Museum, 36 km from King John's Castle, as well as 36 km from Thomond Park.

Location is lovely and quiet. Owners called to the house to check up on us during the stay and asked how many of us were staying at the house, they drove by again later to look in to make sure we weren't exceeding the number of guests (we weren't). It was a bit invasive. Signs all over the house with excessive rules-hoovering all floors and emptying bins before leaving, charging 6euro for an EXTRA BIN LINER, only 4 guests allowed in the house even though advertised as sleeps 6 (4 bedrooms) and charging for electricity upon departure. Not a very relaxed feel.

Margaret was a super host. The apartment was spotless and very comfortable. The added touch of comfy robes for the hot tub and wine coolers etc was lovely. The bed was very comfortable and we had everything that we needed for a romantic night away. The surprise of the porridge bread with jam and butter on arrival was delicious and the homemade breakfast was plentiful and very good value for money. We will certainly be back.

Breakfast was not included as it was a self catering cottage, we had a small dog with us but the two eateries in the area have a strict no dogs policy, so we didn't eat in the area other than cooking for ourselves at the property.
