Moate Lodge, hotel in Athy

A Georgian farmhouse in the Kildare countryside, Moate Lodge near Athy provides individually designed rooms and a full breakfast menu.

The house is absolutely charming and the hosts Mary and Raymond were so friendly and warm. So much history and knowledge here. We were shown into our beautiful light filled room, that had spectacular views over the stunning countryside. The bed was so comfortable. Facilities were great and clean. Breakfast was wonderful. I will always remember the sweet sound of the birds singing us into the morning. There is a large town 5 mins drive away with lots of pubs, restaurants, and normal amenities. Such great value for money.

Mary and Raymond were very charming hosts and treated me with interest while imparting wonderful historical insights regarding their 18th Century country home Moate Lodge. I look forward to a return visit to explore the local area and the rich points of interest of this part of Kildare. My hot breakfast was the tastiest I've had in recent times.
