We found this villa on booking and decided to spend a few days here in Crete despite the lack of reviews yet, because it really made a very good impression. We were definitely not disappointed and our expectations were exceeded. Dina and Pantelis are wonderful hosts. We have really rarely experienced such hospitality. They picked us up off the highway in the middle of the night to get us safely to the villa, which was absolutely necessary because Maps and the like take you over very bad roads (be sure to drive out of Georgioupoli and over Kalamitsi Amigdali). Pantelis met us at a coffee shop in Georgioupoli called Greogory's. An off-road rental car does not hurt but is not mandatory. Despite the late hour we were welcomed with a great dinner (the rest of the days we were to ourselves, this was just a great welcome gesture). The villa is beautiful, tastefully decorated and located in the middle of nature. It is also equipped with everything you need. It has 3 bedrooms, each air conditioned and 2 bathrooms, each with shower. There were 4 of us there and we had plenty of space. When we arrived we even found a full fridge, which really surprised us in a very positive way. The houses that you see on the map next door are not inhabited buildings, you are on your own. From the terrace you have a wonderful view of Kalamitsi Amigdali. The pool is a good size and you have sun until late afternoon. There are beautiful beaches in the direction of Rethymo, which you can reach after about 20 min drive. Shopping can be done well in Georgioupoli (10 minutes away), larger shopping facilities can be found in Rethymo. The garden is also very nice and idyllic and offers many beautiful corners. We especially liked the outdoor kitchen. Here there is a large barbecue and even a stone oven. On the property live many cats, but all of them were very sweet and trusting. With us during our stay there was a very friendly and sweet dog named Trufa on the property to guard it.

This was a super discovery; everything was great. The house is awesome, spacious and authentique. A nice kitchen with everything for breakfast and comfortable sofacorner. We also loved the courtyard and the rooftop hangout. And then ofcourse a swimmingpool around the corner, excellent! And everything sparkling clean! The little village is lovely situated in a great environement with view of the mountains. And the local tavern has the most excellent food. Everybody was very friendy.

We really enjoyed our stay at the villa located in this quiet village. It was very hot in Crete during our stay, and as the villa is a bit higher up in the mountains than sea-level, temperatures were milder as well; 38°C actually felt good. The host wished us welcome with fresh cake, raki, local wine and olive oil and made us feel very welcome from the start to the end. They answered swiftly and even checked up with us how we where doing during the stay. The villa is well located for exploration of Chania and Rethymno. We loved Kalami beach ;-) The sound of sicades was distanced enough to be enjoyable and in the evenings sirisses and crickets song their calm tune. The church nearby sounds the hours and the half hours and was very charming.

Villa Domenico and the surrounding olive grove and mountains are stunning - exactly like in the pictures. Spyros and Joanna were the perfect hosts, very friendly and welcoming. The pool and terrace were the highlight of the stay. Everything was perfect, we just wish we could have stayed longer!
