Rose cottage was a lovely, comfortable stay... It had everything you needed, the grounds were lovely & it was an ideal base for touring around...
Tracy & Brian were very friendly & thoughtful... Tracy recommended a pub eatery. The Bell was a lovely place, staff were friendly & very accommodating when it came to my meal.. which I really did appreciate.. Overall, we had a great holiday & the weather was kind to us..Well, we didn't get a drenching ..xxx & it was mostly warm all week bar one day..xx

We loved our stay at Oak Cottage! The purpose of our stay was to go on walks and hikes and this was placed in the perfect location as you are about 2 minutes from Ysgyryd Fawr and not too far from Sugar Loaf. Pen-Y-Fan is also about a 45mins drive away. You are not far from the main town where you will find supermarkets and cute cafes and there are plenty of spaces to park once there. Oak Cottage was not hard to find and just off the main road, but it was very quiet. You have your own parking space in front of the cottage and the space is only used by one other vehicle.
Everything we needed was provided and I appreciated that there were a lot of hangers in the bedroom and hooks by the front door. There was even enough space in the bedroom to open 2 small suitcases!
I did message to say that we would be in Abergavenny at around 10am and about 3pm, we were told that the cottage was ready for us. We had no problems retrieving the keys from the lockbox and entering the cottage.

Symonds Yat itself is a wonderful area and we spent much of our time outdoors exploring, fishing, hiking canoeing etc… however I advise staying in many of the other accommodation options which are highlighted below.
Cottages are perfect for travellers who enjoy feeling cosy and independent in the countryside. Usually small, traditionally built houses, cottages spread across one or two floors, making them great for families, or holidays with a little more privacy.
my room was huge with lovely beams and furniture. The bed was extremely comfortable and beautifully dressed. My ensuite was large and luxurious.
The host was charming, engaging and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.
Very peaceful location; a charming g house, nay home, made by the exceptionally nice but modest hosts. How reassuring that such personalised and caring hospitality can still be found.
Very comfortable and it was like going back to my childhood with the furnishings, it was very cosy and I was made to feel very-welcome. Also breakfast was excellent.
