A small hotel/pub in a quiet village off the A66, this made a good stop for us on the way back from Scotland, but could easily be a base for a longer stay (they seem to specialise in fishing packages). The staff were friendly. Dinner and breakfast were good, with a good range of choice (will cook a fish if you catch one). The room was cosy and comfortable.

A quaint old property. The breakfast was good both in terms of quality and quantity and the menu has a couple of alternatives to the traditional English breakfast. Staff were very friendly.

We needed an overnight stay in the area and found this gem of a b&b. Staff helpful & friendly; property charming, quirky with good facilities, room warm, comfortable and pleasant, breakfast excellent (no problem making gluten free for me); very dog-friendly; large and interesting garden for a stroll or sit. We’ve stayed once for business but intend to return for leisure.

The location is in a small rural village of which most houses / cottages have flower displays. There is a central village green with children's play area. However is within striking distance of the M6 It was a great location for us to overnight on the way to Scotland. Would consider it without hesitation for a weekend break on some future occasion
