Royal Lodge, hotel in Marstow

Located by the river Wye, the hotel is nestled just below Symonds Yat Rock and stands exclusively in grounds of almost 5 acres. There is free WiFi available at the hotel.

The location is excellent, the views outstanding. Symonds Yat Rock is 500m above the hotel which is a moderately steep half hour walk to the top and very worthwhile.

The Snuggle, hotel in Marstow

Located in Symonds Yat and only 41 km from Kingsholm Stadium, The Snuggle provides accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking.

Symonds Yat itself is a wonderful area and we spent much of our time outdoors exploring, fishing, hiking canoeing etc… however I advise staying in many of the other accommodation options which are highlighted below.

Milk in the fridge if you didn't bring any. Kind with an earlier check in as I brought my 3 young grand children and the cabin was able to be cleaned in time for our arrival .

Steve and Clare are amazing hosts. In hospitality details matter the most. Personalised gestures like a pint of milk in the fridge, heating up the cabin so that we get a warm welcome and not to forget mentioning, posting to us our little notebook that we forgot behind, we had an amazing experience. The cabin was very homely, clean and emaculate. Would definitely recommend to all.

How cozy it's made with candles, books to read, everything in the kitchen you need is provided. It was warmer than I expected I didn't know how well the heat would hold in but it was great. Communication from the host was great.

Cabin is really cosy and warm. The wind and rain battered the roof but we were warm and snug. Reminded me of camping or caravaning as a kid. The bathroom is perfect the shower is warm and wet so what else do you need. All you need to cook and eat and relax after whatever you've been doing. Fishing I'm our case. Location is near to ross on wye which gives you access to many more places to go.

We had a brilliant stay here. It was even better than we hoped! Beautiful cabin and garden, more facilities than we were expecting - including indoor and outdoor games for the children. We arrived later than planned but our host still came to welcome us with keys and a smile and we really appreciated that. Great location for visiting our friends. The hosts have maximised space and made this feel so cosy and welcoming. We'll be staying again (and again and again!).

It is a lovely, self contained cabin with everything we needed. Kitchen was fully equipped so we could store and prepare our picnic essentials. We were also a very short drive to Symonds Yat where we enjoyed lots of boat rides, walks, and of course pubs. We especially enjoyed the enclosed garden area, there is a lovely provision of outdoor games (skittles, ring toss etc.). Our two year old was very comfortable sleeping in the cozy cabin, and it was very peaceful. We had a great time and we’d certainly love to return.
