Berwyn Shepherds Hut, hotel in Llangynog

Offering garden views, Berwyn Shepherds Hut is an accommodation located in Wrexham, 25 km from Whittington Castle and 25 km from Horseshoe Pass.

I bought my boyfriend the aqueduct canoeing experience as a gift for Christmas so we booked the shepherds hut for our stay. What a glorious corner of the earth! Waking up to the sound of the little creek that runs past the hut & the sound of the sheep is so relaxing. You have no signal so you have a few days away from hectic modern life. The views are absolutely stunning & the stars at night are amazing as there’s no light pollution! You can cozy up by the fire pit & even toast a few marshmallows. Laura was so lovely & helpful & I thank her for sharing her little paradise with us. I would highly recommend the shepherds hut if you’re in the area & wanting a few days “off grid”.

Castle Buildings Cottage1, a property with a garden, is set in Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, 28 km from Whittington Castle, 34 km from Chirk Castle, as well as 44 km from Dolforwyn Castle.

The friendly & helpful host contacted me on arrival day to offer directions, to explain check-in procedures and ask if we needed her to get fresh bread & milk for us. On arrival the house was warm, cosy & very welcoming. I was very impressed with the style and spaciousness throughout, from the beautiful original features to all the modern facilities. Beds were large & comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and basic supplies were plentiful. There was plenty of hot water, and fluffy towels. Everything was clean and traditionally luxurious.

Every room was so spacious - especially the main bedroom with that wonderful bathroom. All beds were comfy. The kitchen was really well equipped. The lounges were so comfy and we loved having the open fire. The location was perfect for walking straight from the cottage.

The cottage is set in a beautiful location, nestled between high valley sides. It's a great spot for local lakes and Snowdonia. The cottage itself has all amenities and is warm and comfortable. It's dog friendly and there's a secure yard, along with many dog-walking routes locally. The owners supplied everything for our stay, for example, logs and sticks for the log fire and tablets for the dishwasher.
