'Stokoe Cottage', hotel in Lanehead

'Stokoe Cottage' is set in Alston. Complimentary WiFi is available. The property consists of 1 separate bedroom, 1 bathroom and a living room.

Location is perfect, tucked away but still right in the centre of town and all clean and tidy. Communication with the hosts was excellent and everything provided for a comfortable stay. There are books, board games and TV for a night in but we popped into the Turk's Head next door where the locals were very welcoming and dog friendly. If you're cycling in the area there's a massive utility room for secure storage.

Mayfield Cottage, hotel in Lanehead

Mayfield Cottage is set in Burtree Ford and offers a garden and off-street parking. Featuring rolling countryside and garden views, this holiday home also includes free WiFi.

My daughter was staying at the adventure centre nearby, so I booked this property as it was close and it was within budget. I had to bring my laptop/PC and work during the day. I had messaged and was told that the internet was fast and it was absolutely fine (which was a great relief). When I arrived and (eventually) found the lockbox; I couldn't have been more impressed at the property. It was absolutely stunning and much larger than I had expected. There was a nice card, shortbread biscuits, tea and milk waiting for me. Everything had been catered for; welcome pack, amenities, dish washer, fridge freezer (I left my pizza!). The place was super cozy (wood burners) and had hive for central heating. I honestly couldn't ask for anything more and will be staying again with my family next time.

2 Holme Pool, hotel in Lanehead

Set in Bishop Auckland, 49 km from MetroCentre, 2 Holme Pool features accommodation with access to a garden. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and private parking is available on site.

The location was stunning and there were amazing views & scenery. Lovely seeing the cows looking over the garden fence, the sheep, rabbits and pheasants in the field behind & waving at people walking their dogs down by the river and at the farmers going past on tractors. Idyllic country retreat, lots of walks from the doorstep & village short walk away with two dog friendly pubs, a Coop shop and a (dog friendly) cafe (that serves lovely cakes and a cracking fry up). The property had most things we needed and was comfy, lovely bedding and soft furnishings. The neighbours were lovely and helpful and even moved the van from the parking bay, so that we could park there, so we were nearer to the property, to unload etc. And because they had 2 dogs, they gave our dog treats too! We enjoyed stargazing from the property and bedrooms, having a barbecue & having a real fire.

Lovely place for a single person or couple who look for peace and quiet. The cottage is located on a hill surrounded by grasslands, away from the main road, but with an easy access. Birds singing from early morning, oystercatchers, lapwings and curlews can be seen from the bedroom window. Owners very kind and helpful, made their place our home.
