This is a lovely building that blends in with the beautiful surrounding countryside. Immaculate condition inside and out. The grounds are very well kept too. Sam, on reception when I arrived, couldn’t have been more helpful. I couldn’t have wished for more during my short stay.

Down (up!) a windy lane with great views. 'Henrys little shop' for chocolate, crisps, juice. Homely, fresh cottage feel when you walk in to be greated at the reception desk/bar. Quirky living room for guests to use, and wooden table and chairs for breakfast. Lovely view through bedroom window with coffee, tea etc plus biscuits! Dog friendly with an enclosed field for dogs to race and play as lots of pheasants around. Their car park is near part of the coast 2 coast walk.

The landlady is friendly and very helpful in providing a taxi service to and from the local pub a mile away. The buildings are charming with a well-furnished lounge for a relaxing evening. The room rate reflects the convenience of this location for walkers on the coast-to-coast path. The breakfast was excellent; everything just so. The yoghurt was top quality and the bowl of strawberries and blueberries was wonderfully fresh.

Victoria was a lovely host, very friendly and welcoming. Beautiful spot in lovely countryside and some very good bird life including a regular visiting great spotted woodpecker. Room was very clean, comfortable and breakfast was nicely cooked. Good parking available and literally on the coast to coast walk.

Everything was lovely from first arrival and onwards. The room was cosy and there were tables outside to sit and enjoy the warm evening as well as a nice guest lounge. Breakfast in the mornings was generous and tasty. Victoria and Andy were both friendly and welcoming. There were also lovely places to explore nearby on foot, without even needing to get in the car.
