Cottages are perfect for travellers who enjoy feeling cosy and independent in the countryside. Usually small, traditionally built houses, cottages spread across one or two floors, making them great for families, or holidays with a little more privacy.
I've just had the most amazing stay at Walkers Retreat - everything was absolutely lovely. It's in a quiet, peaceful location with stunning views. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and well equipped. There are homely touches everywhere and it feels well looked after and well loved.I really appreciated the hosts' kindness, Samantha was helpful and welcoming. The village of Holne is charming, with tea room, shop and historic pub which serves delicious food. I would definitely love to return.
We loved everything about this place!
So so welcoming with many lovely homely touches.
The hosts were so helpful and friendly.
We just felt so at home and relaxed here.
PLUS the fantastic location for walks (directions for the best walks kindly recommended by the hosts) and very cosy pub with yummy ale and food just around the corner.
We would recommend 100% and would definitely come again ourselves!
Thank you so much Samantha and Alex!
Absolutely stunning surroundings and gardens . Clean ,comfy and cute little cottage . The hosts were very amenable , nothing was too much trouble . The master bed was so comfortable it was insane , I’d like to know the make of the mattress! Lovely showers .
Perfect cosy place with all comfort! Not to forget the garden and outside sitting area. Ideal to discover (and hike) Dartmoor national park! Located in a nice little village! Highly recommended !
The property was so cosy and clean. Everything in the cottage was of a very high standard, from the bedding to the Le Crusset pans! a wonderful host who was most welcoming but equally respectful of privacy. It is a perfect cottage for 2 and a furry friend, the walks are beautiful and easily accessible. My favourite thing is looking out of the bedroom window at the beautiful river Dart ❤️
This place is lovely. It's great if you want to disconnect, read a book near a stream, make a fire and look up at the sky.
We loved our hut. It has everything in it to make it cosy, to cook yourself a meal. It was nice to wake up in the morning and and have a coffee looking at at the great fir trees. We loved it!
