The lodge was a fantastic stop off on the journey down from the Highlands! Really easy to find and great comms from the owners. The place itself was immaculate, so clean and fresh! It was lovely and warm and cosy, well decorated and equipped. The bed was comfy and we slept well! Honestly wish he had booked more than one night as it was so quiet and relaxing! Just perfect!

'Stokoe Cottage', hotel in Gilsland

'Stokoe Cottage' is set in Alston. Complimentary WiFi is available. The property consists of 1 separate bedroom, 1 bathroom and a living room.

Location is perfect, tucked away but still right in the centre of town and all clean and tidy. Communication with the hosts was excellent and everything provided for a comfortable stay. There are books, board games and TV for a night in but we popped into the Turk's Head next door where the locals were very welcoming and dog friendly. If you're cycling in the area there's a massive utility room for secure storage.

Everything - perfect, just what we wanted! The whole ‘cottage’, although small was so well thought out, really comfortable & spotlessly clean. (Husband was doing the Pennine Way & I was providing support & cycling. The North View Cottage was our base for a few stages & the facilities ensured a nice warm end to the day, ability to do washing, dry out, re-fuel and relax in comfort on what has been a pretty damp experience at times!). Thank you!

Brilliant and cosy little cottage with enough space to spend more than a week; close to local and national walks (Hadrian's Wall); the little back garden was brilliant, you felt like i your own little pub outdoor seating area; kitchen was well equipped; lovely region, very quiet - the trains hooting added to the romantic atmosphere

Runnerfoot is a lovely little cottage in a pretty village, cosy, clean and had all we needed and more. The owner (Julie) even provides a welcome pack of bread, butter, jam, milk, eggs, wine etc, which was great to have on arrival. The cottage is in a perfect location for exploring Hadrian's Wall, historic sites and picturesque towns and villages. Julie was a great host, very friendly and helpful.

Once booked I found the owner very communicative and extremely helpful in the lead up to, and during my stay. The cottage was spotlessly clean on arrival. It had everything I needed (a home from home) and was cosy and warm. I would highly recommend this cottage.
