every thing we needed for a quiet holiday , relaxing . The cottage in general very good and the kitchen facility excellent, the area is quite remote and local shops are a drive away so we ate in every night having planned ahead and taken most of the supplies we needed . walks direct from the cottage were plentiful and with a dog that was ideal. The garden well enclosed -the peacocks did come in so i think best to check the garden before letting a dog out on its own. the hens ducks and geese stayed the other side of the fence so we were able to enjoy the sun in the garden without worrying where the dog was. Took a picnic most days as the villages were houses only- not an abundance of tea rooms . Close to the broads so able to experience the essence of this area and the remoteness of norfolk . (not a place for shopaholics ) visited Burgh Castle for the Roman ruins, Wroxham for the marina and the shop (Roys) . Had a lovely coffee and cake there by the river. also Fairhaven gardens were near (lovely woodland walks and dog friendly with tea room and covered outside seating ) and also we went to Blickling Hall national trust property on one dayout. The week has been a switch off from the hassle of life and has felt like a true holiday .

A very spacious and quiet place to stay in the countryside with field and garden views. A good variety of cooking utensils if self-catering. Good communication from the host but they choose to leave you to it so no meet and greet which we prefer. A good selection of dvds and board games were available which is great if the weather is poor. Nice modern appliances available with a newly fitted bathroom with a great shower. Ideal location if attending Southwood Hall.
