This was a wonderfully clean and smart place to stay. It's super close to town and is in a quiet residential area. The kitchen was well equipped, and the bathroom was a great size. There was even an iron and ironing board!

These brand new lodges are excellent. Durham is a short(ish) walk away - 5 mins in a car. Great for looking around the university and/or relaxing with nature next to the river. I especially like the power shower, the views, the fresh flowers, fruit, wine touches. The overseer James is on hand and can’t do enough.

We all absolutely loved everything the property has to offer! The host really thought about everything, every detail was perfect. The shower was just amazing and the beds were very comfortable. We was staying for my younger brothers passing out parade in catterick and he loved the location so much he decided to propose to his partner in the beautiful surrounding areas! We all celebrated with a local take away from the fish and chips down the road and a bottle of wine from the shop next to it. We was all so blown away with how close everything was! My mother loved the place so much she has booked to stay again in November!

Good value for money compared to Durham City Centre. Felt friendly, safe and easy checkin and great breakfast. Not fancy but clean had everything we needed. The night we stayed there were three families with teens visiting Durham Uni and one older couple visitors.
Cottages are perfect for travellers who enjoy feeling cosy and independent in the countryside. Usually small, traditionally built houses, cottages spread across one or two floors, making them great for families, or holidays with a little more privacy.
Although we were self catering, the owner very generously provided milk and breakfast items.
The location was perfect for visiting relations and going to Beamish.
Very spacious accomodation and excellent VFM.
Being able to have an evening meal in the pub restaurant was an additional bonus. All the staff were friendly and made us fell very welcome
Warm, spacious, clean, comfortable, rural the list goes on. The welcome pack was an unexpected bonus and much appreciated. Nothing too much trouble for the staff. All were sociable, happy, friendly & very attentive. Lovely views over the countryside.
location charming. Remote but not too remote! close enough to Durham and surrounding towns and cities to be anywhere within a short time. Being above the pub is a great bonus!
