Jon was a great host. The rural setting and local pub were excellent. A reasonably easy journey by car into Durham and to the Living Museum in Beamish:a must see. We will definitely be back and look forward to seeing more of County Durham.

What a lovely place to stay! The service was exceptional, the hostess was amazing, nothing was too much trouble! We were provided with fresh bread and milk on arrival, the kitchen was fully stocked with tea/coffee etc and even had an iPhone charger there (which was a god send as we had forgotten our own)!. We were given information about the area on arrival including good places to eat (the Italian restaurant round the corner was fabulous). We will definitely be back again, fabulous little place!

Staff make you feel really welcome and comfortable, pub next door does excellent home cooked food and very reasonable prices also do breakfast . Great location, facilities and comfort for a large family or group. We loved how we could just let the kids play in the garden while we enjoyed the hot tub. The pool was great, we spent hours each day in there! The views from the cottage were stunning and the cottage itself was really comfortable.
We loved the cottage, it was immaculately clean and tidy with everything you could need. The log fire was all ready for us with extra logs, it was so lovely and cosy. We particularly liked how private and quiet it was and the gardens were lovely. We enjoyed the hot tub very much and it was the highlight of our stay. The hosts were excellent with communication too! We are looking forward to returning. 10/10
