It is a lovely venue, in need of some serious TLC. It was clean, the staff were attentive. Wine was good and I am sure the garden is a fab place to be in the summer. I considered renting the little cottage for a week, but that also needs some serious money invested to upgrade it. These are only my observations. The peeling paint, worn-out carpets, shower needs re-grouting and maybe give the garden furniture a little TLC.

Location great for walking across the Beaufort estate or surrounding areas. Quiet areas with no traffic. Breakfast and food overall was good, served quickly in light of being short staffed at times. Beer garden has a cosy feel.

The location suited us well, as we had arranged a family gathering and a visit to the Arboretum. We stayed in the 3 bedroomed, self catering cottage. The cottage was clean, spacious and well equipped. It comfortably accommodated our group of 6 adults and 2 babies, plus the two adults, who had a room in the pub. The staff were pleasant and helpful, the beer was good and the couple of meals that we enjoyed, from the pub, were excellent. We loved sitting in the pub garden!
