The Rural Inn Posada Abuela Fedela (Grandma's House) is situated 1 km from the Plaza Mayor in Villanueva De Los located in the province of Ciudad Real, Castilla–La Mancha the capital of the comarca Campo de Montiel. Villanueva has been designated by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid as "El Lugar de La Mancha" (The Place in La Mancha) mentioned at the start of Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes. Our host Miguel welcomed us to his home designated the largest Junior Suite to us in the attic Room offering us the garage to park our car and stating as it was Sunday had made a reservation for late lunch at Sancho Bar a short walk from the house. Miguel prepared a rustic/homely Spanish breakfast each morning and was so very kind, attentive and helpful. The bed was so huge and comfortable promoting a good night's sleep provided by the tranquil surroundings being just out of the town.

Maria was a fantastic host and she catered to our every need. Lovely, charming house, with big, comfortable apartments arranged around a serene and cool central courtyard with lots of interesting things. Very good beds, clean, quiet, centrally located and a nice breakfast. We had the impression of stepping into a real, traditional, Spanish home that was welcoming and fascinating.

beautifully restored building in the main town plaza by the church. easy street parking nearby. Bedroom and Bathroom were large, clean, and comfortable, easy to get warm ( we stayed in Feb). A basic breakfast of coffee, toast and jam was included in the price. All in all it was good value for money. Most of the staff were friendly and tried to understand our pigeon Spanish, no-one spoke any English.
