Helpful staff in the Tourist Information centre and a well stocked local shop - both a 10 minute walk from the accommodation.
Nice to stay somewhere in a local community without too many other tourists nearby.
Made good use of the local Guest card: great value by purchasing a weekly travel card for the local Gondola's and railway for 20CHF per person.
Cottages are perfect for travellers who enjoy feeling cosy and independent in the countryside. Usually small, traditionally built houses, cottages spread across one or two floors, making them great for families, or holidays with a little more privacy.
Fully equipped kitchen. Comfy beds. Bike/ski storage. Clean and easy. Very cozy place with lovely owners which pay attention to all the details and share local recommendations.
This was a pleasant stay in a spotlessly clean room in an excellent location. The restaurant was closed due to it being off-season, but normally offers South African cuisine. A pleasant and cosy stay.

This is a lovely house, newly renovated, in a quiet street 8 mins on foot from the village centre. We had everything we needed for self catering, and the hosts were extremely friendly and very kind and helpful. Balcony, garden, sauna, well-equipped kitchen, lots of cupboard space, great views ….Definitely recommend.
Excellent access to slopes. Beautiful views of the mountains/valley/village. Charming and cozy apartment - really well decorated and excellent amenities. Nice restaurant downstairs.
The room was stunning. Stylish and cozy as it can get. Nice big bathtub too!
Very romantic set up. The breakfast was simple but very good. The plus is the whisky bar to go after the ski day and shower, waiting to go in one of the many good restaurants around.

I thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Sternen. It’s a charmingly traditional, family-run place with a cozy restaurant and comfortable rooms. The location in the center of the old village is ideal. Parking in the nearby garage is included, approximately 100 m near the Coop. Best to unload luggage at the hotel before parking. I would certainly stay here again, should I return to Andermatt.
