Cottage was clean, comfortable and cozy. Great water pressure and shower. Beautiful evening. Sun pours into cottage. Continental breakfast provided. Hostess was very gracious and friendly. Offered us some seasonal fruit from her garden. Would highly recommend this Cottage. If we come back to Tasmanian, we will for sure stay here again!

Nestled in tranquil surroundings overlooking the historic Richmond bridge, The Sargeants and Armoury Cottages were built by convicts in 1823. One of the first cottages to be built in Richmond and used to house the Sargeant who oversaw the building of the Historic Richmond Bridge which was also constructed in 1823. Friendly check-in, clear instructions given for check-in when we arrived. A small slow-combustion wood heater had been lit before our arrival, warming the entrance lounge/dining room. Toasty! An electric heater was also provided to warm the front lounge in the morning when we used the kitchen to prepare a cooked b'fast.
