Wonderfully characterful B&B, lovely staff and owner. And the friendly dogs were a nice bonus. I’d love to return in order to spend a bit more time in the area.

Gareth was the most amazing host. Not only was the accommodation comfortable and tastefully decorated, there were some lovely touches - afternoon tea, canapés and the most complete breakfast. We will be back

Full of lovely restaurants and wine and olive farms nearby to visit.
We particularly enjoyed eating at The Royal Hotel. The food and the service, as well as the ambience was exceptional.
I would suggest that 2 days is enough time to spend in Riebeek- Kasteel.

Loved the restaurants - Royal Hotel/ La Parrilla/ Beans for Coffee and The Valley Deli were all exceptional and very much cost effective. Our win for the trip was Kloovenburg Wine Farm, stunning facilities with good tasting options for both Wine and Olives, fantastic value for money and staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Montpellier is definitely worthwhile to visit.
Montpellier is definitely worthwhile to visit. We enjoyed the MCC tasting and cheese board at the Bouval restaurant.
Other places to visit: close to Riebeeck-Kasteel: Eightfeet village, Bosjes, Botha Kelder and Marras.
Our visits to Franschoek and Boschendal were however a disappointment. It was just too busy and probably better to visit outside the festive season.

Riebeek-kasteel is perfect for you if you need a little time out of busy Cape Town. It is extremely safe, walkable and surrounded by pretty wine farms. Its a friendly town, with plenty to choose from in terms of food, coffee shops, art and decor shops.
It gets very hot in the summer!

Loved the cleanliness and comfort of the room and the communal areas. Everything was very well set up for loadshedding - the lights, the Internet, the TV and most essential functions worked even when the main power was off for some time. Great facilities available and a short walk to the main road yet very peaceful. I booked this room at the last minute because the other accommodation I booked in Riebeek-Kasteel was too noisy so I am very glad I stayed @ La Montagne as I got an excellent night’s rest!
Everything! Could not recommend 1 Royal Street Guesthouse enough. The accommodation is absolutely beautiful. I wanted to live there😃
fantastic bed, shower and amazing breakfast.
Our host Antonio was a warm, friendly and a very welcoming host- couldn’t be better.
It’s not a question of no.1 being the best place to stay in Riebeek-Kasteel it’s more that you would visit Riebeek-Kasteel to stay at 1 Royal Street. An absolute treat! Thank you!
We loved our stay at Kokos Huis. We intended to stay for 3 nights, but extended our stay with 2 more nights. The staff does anything to make your stay amazing, we even received a tailor-made itinerary with recommendations in Riebeek-Kasteel and surroundings prior to our stay. Breakfast is also great! We stayed in the family room which is spacious if you intend to stay with kids.
The studio we stayed in was easily accessible from where our vehicle was parked. The facilities in the studio were adequate for what we required for a one night stay, the aircon was welcome after a hot day in Riebeek-Kasteel!
The gardens and pool were beautifully kept and we enjoyed a nice swim in the afternoon. Our hosts were very friendly.
Very easy to check in, friendly staff, beautiful room, loved everything about it, garden is beautiful, lovely atmosphere, liked the fact that I could have my tea in the garden.
Very central, close to the restaurants, shops, 200 m from the Royal Hotel, where we had a fabulous lunch. Safe parking behind a gate. We will definitely be back soon.
This place is a hidden gem! The decor alone is enough to make the stay worth it. The space is so incredibly tasteful and calming. The hosts are both very inviting and friendly, with Antonio spoiling you with the most incredible breakfast in the morning. The secret ingredient here is LOVE! Everything was clearly done with love. Thank you!
Aneen and Francois are great hosts, and it was like staying over at a friend's house. We enjoyed interacting with them and the other guests. Our room was very comfortable and had everything one would expect. Aneen made some space in her fridge and freezer so I could keep some supplies cold, which was much appreciated. Loved the dog :-)
Good location close (within walking distance) to many popular restaurants and shops, only a short distance from all the wine and olive tasting venues. Very friendly hostess and easy check-in arrangements. Heated wall panel and electric blankets were ideal to battle the icy winter weather.
no breakfast was provided, but we went to the local hotel, which was excellent
the beds were very comfortable and the accommodation very clean.
netflix was accessible on the television
The hosts gave us plenty of extra information and recommandations for activities and restaurants. They even have us a bottle of mosquito repellent after we told them we had been bitten.
The location was good. Property was spacious and we had everything we needed. Comfortable and clean bedding.Very friendly owners. About 5 minutes walk to main centre.
A true boutique hotel .
Beautiful decor
Bedroom/ bathroom was excellent.
Breakfast was really good.
Ask Gareth to cook an evening meal for you …. a real treat !
Simple and cozy room in a quiet residential area in Riebeek-Kasteel, just a 10 minute walk from the main square. The hosts were friendly and extremely helpful.
