A lovely clean little town located about a 2hr drive from Cape Town. Blown away with how well maintained the town is, with lots of little browsy type shops, coffee shops and restaurants. We didn't have time to hike but the trails looked great. Friendly locals. Located near to some wine farms as well.

Everything was lovely.
Everything was lovely. Excellent service, good facilities for kids. Children enjoyed the pools and play park. The astro turf for mini soccer and tennis courts are well maintained. The games room was not available for use due to a function, this was not ideal as it is part of the Montagu resort experience.and should always be open to its residents. The accommodation was reasonably comfortable and clean. The villa we stayed in is a bit dated. Generators should be used during loadshedding. All in all, a wonderful experience. I will definitely keep going back.

One of the most beautiful towns in South Africa, with mountains all round the views are beautiful throughout the year. The town has enough shops and restaurants for locals and tourists, but not so much that it becomes crowded (although I haven't been there during peak season). A good fusion between winelands and Karoo.

Montagu is a beautiful, clean and safe town.
Montagu is a beautiful, clean and safe town. We went for school rugby so did not get much time to spend sight seeing, but really enjoyed the natural beauty and friendliness of the towns' people. We had dinner at Mitchell's Pub and Grill....truly some of the most value for money and tasty rump steak I have had a very long time.

Beautiful old Cape town with many original buildings and points of interest. A walking tour around the town is pleasant as long as you steer clear of the main street and its surrounds, which are very shabby.
There are many choices of venue to have a meal if you are not fussy about food, but for fine dining you should try the Montagu Country Hotel's Charleston Restaurant.
The perfect hotel is right in the centre of Montagu. The staff are amazing and the attention to detail was perfect. Amike was so very helpful, booking us into a restaurant for each of the 2 nights we stayed with them. My wife and I are vegan and Amike made sure the restaurants were able to accommodate us (and we didn't ask her to do this, she did so on her own accord). Almond milk was placed in our fridge and a vegan breakfast was available in the morning. Amazing :) - this is the 2nd time we have stayed here and we will keep coming back.
Its really a beautiful setting. Surrounded on all sides by mountains. And on farm you feel very much in country. But montagu only 10 minutes out if you need something from shops.
Pool area is lovely and i like the idea of honesty bar and pizza oven, although we didn't use this time round. Also enjoyed the outdoor shower.
Really nice touch of getting bread on arrival and very nice home made cookies.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves
Small boutique hotel (only four rooms I believe) with friendly owners and staff, lovely breakfast (with all guests together!) which is homemade, beautiful estate and very very very nicely decorated. These owners have an exquisite eye for detail and design. The pool is comfortable. Everything is well thought of. The staff already made dinner reservation for us as we arrived on a Monday, which has fewer restaurants that are open.
great self catering suite with double bed and 2 singles, with en suite bathroom and kitchen/living area.
added bonus of last minute massage being booked at attached spa - Yolanda was brilliant.
hotel restaurant Charleston was great - lovely dinner despite load shedding and breakfast was good value.
owner pj lovely and gave us great advice about where to stop after leaving Montagu
Montagu Little Sanctuary is a beautiful gem in the little hot springs valley north of Montagu. Darlene is to be congratulated for offering an oasis of calm for a relaxing holiday with stunning gardens and pools. The room facilities are great for self-catering and the patio is a delight for bird watchers. You can also enjoy reduced price access to Avalon Springs next door.
the property is incredibly beautiful - the early XX century house and the well maintained garden make a peaceful atmosphere to rest and relax. the owners of this place are very friendly and helpful with their tips. the breakfast is amazing.
the location is perfect for discovering the Montagu town.
a true gem.
Wonderful comfortable farm house with enough space for my family to enjoy. Lovely views, peace and quiet, surrounded by lots of nature.
Hosts were fantastic and made us feel very welcome with added little personal touches Close to hot mineral springs, walks, and lots of wine farms for a day trip.
We did not have breakfast. As it was self catering we thought no breakfast was included. It was a lovely stay and we will be back if Montagu a future stop. We love the town. it was unfortunately Sunday night and most places were closed but we got information as to where to go and have supper.
Nice clean and comfortable room, TV with many different channels, pamphlets with information about Montagu. Coffee making facilities, fridge and microwave oven in room and access to house kitchen for cooking if necessary. Very good location with historical buildings all within walking distance.
The view from the Golden Terraces were lovely and relatively clean, we had quite a private space looking at the vineyards. The pools were lovely and clean. The staff were relatively friendly. Sadly, that's all the positives there were to Montague Springs. The Aircon's were great!
Lovely quaint room on a beautiful farm. Very relaxed atmosphere and staff ensured that we had a great time. We loved the products that were sold on the farm and would definitely recommend Kogman & Keisie to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Montagu.
Everything about Olive stone farm is perfect and well thought out ,the attention to detail is excellent. even though your central to Montagu you feel like your in a rural location . really beautiful
apart from the exceptionally welcoming staff is the hotel itself very beautiful. the garden makes one feel like being in an oasis of trees and flowers. great food in the restaurant.
Excellent location on the main road running through Montagu, within walking distance of restaurants. Safe area. Gourmet breakfast, personally prepared by the owners.
