Not worth the price. More ‘rustic eco cottage’ than ‘lodge’. I’d suggest $25 usd per night maximum. We paid $60 usd.
Cockroaches in bathroom and bedroom at night. Pool was GREEN from algae and not suitable to swim in.
Very out of the way. 1hr off the main road to HaGiang, up winding and at times dangerously tight roads.
Beautiful scenery and location. Bungalows perched over a dam full of frogs so if you’re not used to nature sounds, you may not sleep well.
Was probably good when new but has not stood up well to ageing.
Do not ride here unless you are an experienced rider. Take a driver/car.
When you arrive, there is nothing else in the area so you can only get food at the restaurant. Food was very nice. No fridge, no aircon. Staff very nice.

The property was very clean and the staff were helpful. We went on the 3 day tour of the Ha Giang Loop with Hinh as our tour guide. He was very friendly and made sure we felt welcomed in the group. All the drivers were great and we absolutely loved our time.

Very cute place to stay over before doing the loop. Moreover, the hotel staff is very helpful when planning your trips. The hotel is a bunch of bungalows that are situated around a pond and the swimming pool. There are a few cats, little sausage dogs and two gooses that make your stay very lovely. The rooms are clean and have a good price-value.

We stayed at Yolo because we wanted to do the ha Giang Loop the next day! We arrived from Sapa around 1 am and Yolo made the late check in possible so that we could rest and start the tour with a good night sleep! We did the 3 Day 2 Night Ha Giang Loop with Yolo Tours and were very happy with it! We chose Yolo because they offer smaller groups, which we prefer. The hostel and the food there is good, simple and cheap. After we finished the loop they let us shower and take a rest for free, before we went on a bus to travel further.
The tour itself was incredible! We were unsure if we could drive it ourselves because we have only little experience with semi-automatic scooters (which are recommended for the Loop, because in automatic scooters brakes can overheat and stop working). We decided to do one self-driving and one easy-rider, so we could switch. In the end, both of us even liked riding on our own more. If you can drive a manual car and a bicycle safely and are used to windy roads, then you won’t struggle with the semi-automatic scooters. The roads are fine most of the time, on rougher patches or narrow parts it’s still easily manageable if you drive slowly and carefully.
Our Guide Tuán (Speedy) was very lovely and funny, we enjoyed the time with him! We would tell us much about Ha giang region and Vietnamese culture and was also interested in hearing about our country and culture as well! We were extra lucky, because we got a private tour with him due to little demand :)
The whole trip was well organised, Tuán drove safely and tried his best to keep us from bigger tourist groups. The homestays and the food on the way were also good and left not much to wish for. For us, 3 Days was enough, because you get kind of sore from all the driving and sitting, especially driving downhill can be straining.
We definitely recommend the Ha Giang Loop with Yolo Tours and Tuán :) thank you so much!

The guide and drivers were beyond friendly and extremely considerate of their riders especially on the bumpy roads and the honestly in Dong Van was stunning. The views seen at every stop was beyond breathtaking and fun to be had at night with happy water and Kareoke. Was the absolute highlight of my time in Vietnam and I would fully encourage others to add it to their must do list.

One of the best things about staying at the HG Hostel and...
One of the best things about staying at the HG Hostel and Motorbikes was the motorbike rental service they offered. My girlfriend and I were able to rent new and well-maintained motorbikes for a very affordable price. The staff were very helpful and gave us helmets, maps, and insurance. We had an awesome time riding around the spectacular landscapes of Ha Giang, and we felt safe and comfortable on our motorbikes. The HG Hostel & Motorbikes made our trip to Ha Giang more convenient and enjoyable, and we highly recommend it to anyone who loves motorbike adventures!
