I was there for a wedding.
I was there for a wedding. I think I would not go there just for tourism, because there is really not much to see. The city itself is very cute, with old and charming buildings, if you want to go there you probably will not spent more than a day to get to know everything.

Absolute Nightmare.
Absolute Nightmare. Reconstruction/remodeling which was not disclosed. Trash from painters everywhere, every floor. Never vacuumed in 2 days. Canvas tarp on hall carpets on every floor. Trash was left in trash cans at elevators for days. Dimly lit lobby. Noise constant. Ice machines are not working. Constant dripping water from ice machine into hole in the floor. Rode elevators constantly with workers. Paint peeling in rooms. Toiletries are limited, not at the bathroom sink and bath. Rough towels. Lousy mattress. Bed made sloppily; bed skirt not properly put on so that it dragged on the floor to trip on. Breakfast limited. Heard the front desk employees' remark: look at this bucket; the woman didn't even add enough water to mop with. Guess she was tired of emptying the bucket. Terrible. Shame on Booking.com for having it on their website and not keeping abreast of this hotel.

The breakfast, attention and help given to my family by Wendy the morning staff was the best. The most horrifying part. The rooms that they call handicapped rooms really are not. There handicap rooms have No, walk or roll in showers. They are regular tubs, that you have to attach this heavy bench too. The bench is not secure, the one pad came off the bench collapsed and my handicap daughter could not get up off the tub floor and her left arm got trapped between the shower safety bars. If my sister, who is an EMT was not there, 911 would have had to been called. To remove my handicap daughter from the TUB safely.

It was a very clean nice hotel with the front door and back door access. It had a nice terrace that led to the pool. I can walk through my terrace to my friends room. We can park close to our room, but we have to use the stairs to go up and down. I would’ve liked elevators closer to where our rooms were. It was like a maze trying to find the elevator. Checking was a little slow though it could’ve been better if there was two people instead of one. The phones in the room should be updated. There’s still a little antique Kish the toilets are a little low but the room has a microwave in fridge and great air condition. There was live music, but everything stops kinda early. I was shocked being that it was the weekend that the grill didn’t stay open a little later in the pool. And breakfast starts later which would’ve been nice if it was a little earlier or the normal time since we came down to get up early and go out and do an event. It’s a little pricey. But cool that you couldn’t get to a gas station at a strip mall which stores in it to shop without getting back on the highway just by going out the back of the hotel.

It’s a beautiful city especially downtown with all the historical places. We felt safe walking even at night. The small restaurants and pubs are charming and delicious. We ate the best pizza ever at the Fig and Barrel Pub. Figs, prosciutto, mascarpone and arugula on a sourdough bread pizza and craft beer list. Delish!

York is an active and progressive city.
York is an active and progressive city. I loved all the little unique shops and small businesses. The people we encountered were friendly and talkative. The little cafes really added flare and all the unique restaurants were great. We stayed in downtown york for the most part. We did eat at places like Bones and Shells, and the food is magnificent as well as Cracker Barrell and the staff were on the money. It was just a wonderful experience. Glad there were no big box stores downtown!
We were in York for a wedding at the Stone Mill Inn apx 9 mins away. Picked this hotel so we could golf also. Everything was very clean, the staff was amazing, we ate at the restaurant ‘Avenue’ downstairs and the food was fast and wonderful. The patio of Avenue is open onto the golf course. Just a beautiful location. Great place to stay. We peaked in the ballroom downstairs and it had the most beautiful arched wooden ceiling. We didn’t make it to the spa but maybe next time!
The room size was a little smaller than I expected but it suited us just fine. The bathroom was a very generous size, and the kitchenette (although we didn’t use anything except the coffee maker) was a bonus. I also appreciated the large desk workspace. Although we didn’t use it (our stay was short) the gym facility was very nice and the marketplace had lots of options!
I had to pay for the room myself- no one had the hotel code for the room so he did not have one ready for me. The front desk person tried so hard to get the code he needed from the Booking.com people. my company should NOT BE CHARGED for this room!!!!! As stated previously I had to pay for my own room!!!!
The room itself was very clean and spacious. It was also fairly quite considering the location. It must have good soundproofing to protect from traffic noise. The breakfast has a good variety and was well stocked. Wi-Fi was reliable and strong the whole time I used it.
The staff was extremely helpful and very kind. Every staff member I spoke with answered all my questions and was very polite. The hotel and room was very clean. Big comfortable bed with a nice view.Breakfast was delicious. Overall it was a wonderful stay.
The room was nice, beds were comfortable. I believe pool was closed. No breakfast was served due to COVID-19, they did however, have coffee and a bag with fruit and a nutigrain bar in it and offered yogurt.
cig smoke, dirty sheets , grimey floors, bathroom shower floor stain black. room wasnt even cleaned and after the hotel “cleaned” it they left and replace with BLOOD stain sheet. we ran for ourselves.
Decent rooms, remote location that was a little difficult to get to. Also, confusing that there are two locations on the same street, so be careful about which one your GPS sends you to!
