Sleep Inn Historic Williamsburg, hotel in Williamsburg

Featuring an indoor pool and fitness center, this hotel has rooms with free cable TV, 1 mile from the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor center.

We arrived early, the hotel was easy to find. We couldn't check in early but the friendly front desk staff said we were welcome to use the car park and luggage facility before check in time. We decided to do this and to walk into Colonial Williamsburg - it was an easy route and took approx 30 mins each way. The hotel had an indoor pool which was a bonus after a very hot day walking around lovely Colonial Williamsburg and towels for the pool are provided by the hotel and plentiful. Front desk staff were lovely, very friendly and happy. The hotel is near a couple of restaurants, gas stations and a 7/11. The room had coffee facilities, a microwave and fridge/freezer. Breakfast was good too. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Wedmore Place, hotel in Williamsburg

Located 8 km from historic Colonial Williamsburg, this hotel boasts on-site dining and a full-service spa. There is also an outdoor pool. Jamestown Beach is 15 minutes’ drive away.

We arrived around 6:30pm to be told that we'd missed our complimentary flight of wines: ended at 5pm. Also, the pool wasn't open for another two weeks. The spa had to be pre-booked so, as we were only there for one night, we missed that too. There may have been a bar: if there was it was closed. There was a restaurant but it wasn't open as it only provided lunch. The room was nice......

Every aspect of the Inn, setting, decor, amenities, service, and food, was first rate, befitting the property's history and reputation. We felt very welcome and cared for. The Williamsburg Inn is much better in every respect than it used to be despite the loss of the Regency Dining room as a daily venue for meals. Times change and the Inn has with them but the core values of elegance, comfort, and service remain.

Marriott's Manor Club at Ford's Colony, hotel in Williamsburg

Located 7 miles from Colonial Williamsburg, this hotel offers 3 swimming pools, a hot tub and a 54-hole golf course. Villas have a fully-equipped kitchen.

I had a comfortable stay, but there was construction near our balcony room that started at 7:30 am, which was quite loud. The resort was fantastic, and we really enjoyed all the amenities. My only suggestion would be to add street lights on the side street from the tennis courts to the Manor Building because it got dark and visibility was low due to the many trees in the area, which made it a bit scary at night.

Williamsburg is a great place to visit with family but it can get expensive. I highly recommend getting a visitors guide and taking advantage of the coupons inside! I always google for deals before visiting too. Theres so much to see and do you can easily spend a whole week just exploring. You can walk around colonial Williamsburg for free but Jamestown you have to pay to see the settlements, forts and ships. For a family of 5 with 1 baby it was almost $100 just to walk around but it was very cool and the gift shop isnt too expensive. The cafeteria was ok and had alot of options. I recommend buying the Williamsburg tickets to explore inside and get a hands on tour. There's so much to see and do. I recommend taking a full day for each location you plan to see.

Tried to do it all in 5 days.

Tried to do it all in 5 days. Busch Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. We are theme park and history geeks, so could have easily spent more time at each. Used Bounce Ticket to combine Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg. Of the others, only visited Historic Jamestowne and Yorktown Battlefield for one day each, skipping Jamestown Settlement and American Revolution Museum at Yorktown.

Enjoyed our stay. Attended the "Cry Witch' trial which was very entertaining and realistic. Performers did a great job. Also went on the Haunted Williamsburg one hour tour and heard some great ghost stories from the past. The Jamestown Scotland Ferry, then the short drive to Smithfield was a nice experience. Ferry runs 24 hrs and is free. Approx. 20 min. ride. Smithfield was interesting with nice shops and places to dine.

This is the third time we have visited and stayed in Williamsburg. We enjoy the vibe there. I have genealogies from the Jamestown community, and similar interests in Norfolk City, Portsmouth and Newport News. Williamsburg makes for a nice hub to access all those places, and the hotel prices and amenities there are appreciated. Staying at some of the in-town venues can be quite pricey; the Comfort Suites is a nice example of good value. Dave

Dined at various restaurants where the establishments were very clean and the food was good. Driving around Williamsburg is very easy. We also took a drive down to the ferry to Surry Seafood restaurant. This is a great little restaurant right on the water (river). We continued to Smithfield where we enjoyed the museums and many shops, boutiques. Ice cream parlor near the museum had great ice cream.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the facility was very clean and looked like it was brand-new. The rooms and the common spaces were well appointed. The breakfast was decent as hotel breakfasts go and offered both hot and cold options. The facility was also fairly convenient to the Williamsburg Visitors Center, which was only about 1.5 miles from the hotel. There were also several dining options within walking distance of the hotel--a Mexican restaurant and also a "smokehouse" restaurant.

If you are tired of every hotel looking and feeling the same - be that a 5-star Hilton or a 3-star Comfort Inn- then this place is for you! A beautful and unique hotel, in the midst of a vineyard, with each room decorated differently, along European regional themes (Bavaria, Bohemia, Scandinavia, Wales et cetera). Breakfast was excellent...fresh quiche, a very extensive buffet...and the complementary wine tasting at the adjacent winery was a lovely bonus. We will be back - loved it here.
