We stayed here as part of the plan we made to visit Thomas Jefferson's Monticello mansion in Charlottesville. It is cheaper to stay in Waynesboro even though it is only about 25-30 miles away. Waynesboro lies just off the north side of Instate 64 is less than a mile east of Interstate 81.The Shanondoah National Park's Skyline Drive is just east also,

A nice town with a charming downtown area. Lots of restaurants both local and chains. Great mountain views while traveling around town. A good selection of hotels and shopping . A good place to start your drive along the blue ridge parkway.

The trip to Waynesboro was great because I have family there and was my main reason for the visit. As far as the stay, it was ok but more than I had originally been prepared to pay. Reason being, the Booking.com agent that booked me booked me in Waynesboro, VA. I wasn't aware of until I reached my destination and was told I had no reservation. I confirmed everything before leaving just to make

Small town nearby Shenandoah NP.
Small town nearby Shenandoah NP. Spent only couple of hours in the town, but it felt like the place was rather sleepy without anything worth seeing. No or very few restaurants and most of the stores in town were closed rather early.

Well, it suited us after a long day of hiking in Shenandoah National Park. The town we did not go into, it looks like the town-businesses are not doing too well. Many of the businesses around our hotel were boarded up or closed.

Literally at a crossroads for 3+ highways, but after you leave that junction it has a small town feel. Very close to many very nice vineyards, breweries and distilleries. Next to Shenandoah State Park, Blue Ridge Parkway and Appalachian Trail. Crozet Tunnel is very close and a nice and interesting walk. Bring your flashlight! Not a great variety of restaurants, but minutes away from Staunton which solves that problem. Waynesboro is a great place to stay for many reasons.

It was nice to stay at Super 8 by Wyndham Waynesboro. I liked the room, enough spacious and with all the amenities you need for staying comfy. It is close to many fast food and restaurants, and if you need gas there is plenty of options around. I liked the breakfast, it had choice, despite the space is limited.
The hotel is basic but excellent for an overnight when visiting either Shendoah National Park or the Blue Ridge Parkway.
It offers a nice swimmingpool, great after a days travel.
I recommend it for families. It is a hotel run by its own owners and this makes it very warm. Mr. Alberto from maintenance is very attentive and helpful.
