I just got a response from the manager of the Quality Inn , where he accused my wife and me of threatening his employees with calling the cops on them( His words) , and screaming for a refund . None of which is true , but if you stay there , I wouldn’t expect any better from this group , just to be safe don’t go there.

vandalia is a very nice place it is the old state capitol has a lot of history there is one plaace you dont want to stay at it is the budget in or economy inn the place was sold 2 weeks before we where to stay there it is a pig house there was trash mold and other thing in the room they wanted us to stay in we changer to quality inn but now cant get our money back be carfull where you stay
Breakfast was usual budget hotel fare. It was served in a pleasant sit down dining room. My husband requires an arm chair or sofa to sleep upright and staff was very accommodating. Suite we rented was spacious and very functional. Hotel is located on edge of town very close to restaurants and gas stations.
We were traveling all day, first attempt to stop was a no-go due to lack of availability at all three hotels we checked. The Vandalia HIE&S had a room and then was gracious enough to upgrade us to accommodate for separate sleeping arrangements for a sick child. Then, we all slept great. Very friendly staff.
We were traveling for two weeks and stayed at four hotels. This hotel is amazing and definitely the best of the 4. Friendly staff, super clean, pet area perfect, excellent breakfast, did I mention clean. Thankful to find them on Booking.
Clean, spacious room. Friendly staff. Easy to find and easy check-in. Good location, safe area. Great price. Will be coming back to Vandalia again in a couple of weeks, have already booked a room at this hotel again.
Booking.com said there were rooms available and we soon received a call from the hotel and was informed they had no rooms available. Booking.com needs to verify if rooms are available before booking a room.
The location of the hotel was ideal as it was close to the highway exit, so it allowed for easy on, easy off access. And there were plenty of restaurants in the area so getting food was not a problem.
Clean! A priority these days. I was shocked to have a hot breakfast, very pleased most hotels have done away with it due to covid and you get a sack. Very happy with the hot breakfast.
The breakfast was ok. The hotel was full so breakfast was a little crowded. Staff was stretched keeping everything stocked. A little more variety would have been nice.
