Blending historic country charm with today's modern amenities, this hotel offers 20 acres of lush surroundings along with an award-winning restaurant and easy access to attractions, including Hartford...

Great location and lovely ambiance. The continental breakfast was better than expected. A suggestion would be to change the offering. We were there for two days and it was exactly the same each day. Dinner was very good — also better than expected.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Bradley Airport, an IHG Hotel, hotel in Simsbury

This hotel offers 24-hour shuttle service to Bradley Airport, 1 mile away. It is 20 minutes’ drive from Hartford city centre and features an indoor pool and free Wi-Fi.

I was particularly impressed by the gentleman who checked us in. He was friendly, informative, and helpful. Nothing is like a welcoming greeting to set the tone for a stay. We also appreciated the long term parking arrangement in which we paid to leave our car at the hotel while we were traveling.

Courtyard Hartford Farmington, hotel in Simsbury

Offering a restaurant and a fitness centre, Courtyard Hartford Farmington is located in Farmington. Free WiFi access is available.

The breakfast was OK but there was confusion with my Booking.com reservation that included prepaid breakfast - for some reason the restaurant refused to give me a full Starbucks coffee and would only give me a small number of items from the menu even though I had prepaid $20 per day for breakfast. They were happy to make one item (breakfast roll) that costs $11 but would not prepare a different item (french toast) that costs the same. And I had to go to front desk twice to make sure my credits were visible to the restaurant staff. It would be nice if this process were smoother.

I live in RI and have never been that far into the center of CT as I always thought it would be boring. I was incorrect and went to a number of stores, breweries, eateries and met a great group of people throughout my short stay.

We were visiting the New England Air Museum.

We were visiting the New England Air Museum. This motel was about 15 minutes away. It was the most reasonable motel price-wise. The motel is old and dated, as are the interior finishes. Not run down, just old. There have been some updates, but more would not hurt. The room was a good size. The room was very clean. Everything worked inside. Clean is the biggest thing for me. Dated doesn't bother me.

It never stopped pouring for 48 hours, could not walk around at all, in addition, very cold. Unusual for this time of the year! We drove around to different little towns. Simsbury Inn is in a very good location.

It was pouring/raining for the duration of our trip.

It was pouring/raining for the duration of our trip. We didn't get to enjoy the hiking to the tower or a nearby botanical garden as we planned. But, it was close to Hartford and we found some indoor stuff to do there. The Pine and Iron axe throwing spot was unexpectedly fun! And lunch in West Hartford was great. I'd say, if you see it is going to rain actively try to plan a nearby museum or other activity. We weren't able to get into the Mark Twain House (about 20 minutes away I think) and b/c of COVID indoor activities are limited.

I did not have enough time to thoroughly explore the area but from what I did see it was very cozy and full of nature exploration features. The people were very friendly. It was also easy to get around and a very quaint community with great food and lots of places to eat.

The Iron Horse Inn has seen better days. It is threadbare, the furnishing are old, the room was dingy and had an odor. There were no bathroom facilities in the lobby and the outdoor facilities appeared uncared for, especially the lobby entrance. In fairness, the room, bedding and bathroom were relatively clean. The saying goes "you get what you pay for". The price was cheap and I got cheap. So if you want to go for a bargain price, you could do better than this.

We went to a local restaurant called Metro Bis that is owned and operated by world renowned Chef Chris Prosperi. As wine libations were the main event at this special back room private neal we felt it was best to choose a close location being the Simsbury 1820 House. One of the other 4 couples was also staying here and had a nightcap in the bar which added to the pleasure of the night. Wonderful staff and a great visit!

They took great care of me from the start. When my original room was flooded due to a storm, they gave me another lovely room. The place was beautiful and gracious. I want to give a special shout out to Debbie at the front desk. She was so welcoming and warm, even though there was a hurricane on the way. She really made me feel like family. I will definitely stay here any time I’m in Simsbury!
