The staff was wonderful. There were many benches to relax and enjoy the ocean view. The bed was average in comfort. The bath towels seemed new and were excellent quality. Parking was close to rooms and seemed to accommodate a full occupancy. The exterior appearance looks nice but on close inspection everything needs paint. Too may kids in the pool so I didn’t swim. It looked nice enough.

Location! It was within walking distance of the shore, right off Highway 1. We were in the area for a family event, so it was a place to dress and sleep. The front desk let us into our room early to dress, which helped us. It is an affordable place to stay centrally located to Hearst Castle, the beach, and Cambria. We paid a little extra for a cot, which allowed my family of 5 to stay in one room.
Situated along the San Simeon Bay coast, Pacific Coast Roadhouse Hotel; SureStay Collection by Best Western is only 10 minutes' drive to Hearst Castle.

Very spacious, clean, and comfortable room. Staff was very friendly and kind, when we arrived our room was missing the microwave which I needed for my son's meals, and the staff kindly provided a new room, upgrading it to ocean view.

Love this motel.. Have been coming here for years.. the staff is exceptional.. and Edward/ Eddy are the best.. The breakfast is very good and a great way to start your day..close to all the beaches for dog 🐶 walks and NO BIG CHARGES for your stay…

San Simeon is a great spot for quiet relaxation. It's right by the ocean and has several restaurants. It's also just a few minutes drive to Cambria if you want to go for a nice walk on the Moonstone Beach walkway right by the ocean, and then another short drive to Cambria's cute little town.

The ocean was beautiful.
The ocean was beautiful. It was great seeing the elephant seals, and all their babies, lots and lots of babies everywhere. Every female seem to have a baby was happy to see the her castle from afar could not take my puppies, so I could not go on the tour. Next time I will go on the tour I will find a pet sitter.

San Simeon is just one of those cool places that are not...
San Simeon is just one of those cool places that are not over crowded by people and businesses. Different places to stop and explore along this part of the coastline. Besides having Hearst Castle, you can check out the elephant sea lions area and a lighthouse. Just south of San Simeon you have a quick drive over the Moonstone Beach and another 20 min south you have Morro Bay. I think it is a great place to stay when you don't want to be in one of the bigger beach towns, its a more down to earth place when you want to just be in one of the small cozy towns.

San Simeon state Beach is perfect for families. It's not crowded like Pismo or windy like Avila. Perfect for families. Affordable restaurant options are limited for large families. None really unless you eat at the mini mart.
Pacific Coast is one of the few hotels that continues to provide a hot breakfast of eggs and bacon as well as yogurt, cereal, and pastries. The room has a microwave and refrigerator. I usually bring my own food so I appreciate that convenience. The bed is comfortable. The room has hardwood floors and is nicely decorated. Because this hotel is usually the lowest price when I am searching for places to stay thanks to booking.com VIP status, I have booked this hotel at least 5 times in 1.5 years.
The location was great, the staff were wonderful. If you want to be one of the first to get to Hearst Castle in the morning, Cavalier Oceanfront Resort is a great place to stay. Beds were comfortable, and rooms were spacious.
Hotel was clean and staff were welcoming. Rooms were a great size and hotel was conveniently placed just off Highway 1.
Free parking was available as well.
