Michael and Brandy were extremely friendly and welcoming. They gave us lots of information about what to do in the area.
The breakfast provided was very good.
The rooms have different themes, and our "Santa Fe Trail" room was tastefully decorated.
The hotel is on the edge of town, and so is relatively quiet in terms of passing traffic.

Wonderful place, very individual, we felt warmly welcome, got an upgrade of the room, great beds, nice little town with at least one very tasty Pizza place (we have been only for one night). The place was easy to find with much space for parking. Breakfast was a pleasure and we will definitely come again when we are around.

This motel was clean and comfortable with a mid-century vibe. Really appreciated the staff staying later for our late arrival. Love the parking right next to our room. This is one of those 50s style motels that I stayed in on the road as a child, and I love it!

When I got to the restroom it looked like someone had shower before us there was a used towel hanging on the shower rod. Tub was broken and it leaked so the floor would flood had to have extra towels so we wouldn't fall. Bed and floors had hair like it hadn't been cleaned.on the website said had breakfast and a place to sit and eat but there was nothing no ice machine no vending machines the lady that checked me in was wearing like a skimpy muscle shirt that showed her boobs. And roaches. Tv only worked when it wanted to.

I didn't have time to explore Raton, but I would recommend travelers to stay a few days to explore the city and attractions especially the Volcano.

don't know a lot about Raton but it is a quiet town and a nice crossroad stop on your way west into New Mexico or north into Colorado. Good hotels reasonably priced and some good eateries beginning of a scenic drive west to Angel Fire and Taos

This might look like a sleepy town cat first glance-- but there are interesting people and fun things to do here. We casually strolled into a hotel/bar and found a comedian playing the sax, telling jokes and doing magic tricks. We loved the Colfax Ale Cellar-great beer made on site --and nice people. The staff was exceptional and the owner even gave us a tour and taught us about beer making. We stocked up on some to bring home. If you need a few local meats check out High Country Meats. This is a custom butcher shop in town. We loved the green chili sausage and managed to leave with a cooler full of items including some coffee bacon (wow!) and some frozen pet food made on site without fillers. Yes, we found a lot in Raton and plan to go back to check out all of the hiking nearby and local parks and even the inactive volcano off to the west. This place makes for a great destination for some weekend exploration. Wish we'd had more time. We will be back. And the Raton Motor Inn is a great base for a lot of food and outdoor and small town exploration. Also, Fishers Peak nearby is a new state park among a few for trail running, mountain biking etc. There's your trip. Have fun.

If you are looking for a fancy modern hotel, this is not that - If you are looking for a nice clean comfortable room with friendly staff, this one is great. Priced reasonably. We were traveling further and only stayed the one night, but were very happy with everything about the place.

AVOID at ALL costs, it is a Deathtrap, waiting to trip, and unsafe, the owner blames everything on "his maid" including building maintenance.
Has a policy of no refunds for any stay booked on booking.com.
My total bill according to booking.com was 461.00 however the bill from the Motel included a pet charge of 210.OO not listed on website., per their invoice total was 703.50 plus New Mexico Taxes 50.40.
I've been using booking.com for decades and do not know how this h#II hole remains listed on a site that has to this date never let me down before!!!!!!
I left 3 days into my stay, the owner saw me pack up and leave. He still charged room AND dog fees for an additional 3 days. There were NO animals in the room for 3 whole days, RIP-OFF much???????
READ all the reviews they echo the same type of building/safety/disrepair etc. The owner responds blaming it on his staff, he has no staff, just one charming hardworking person, who he holds responsible for EVERYTHING, except him standing outside smoking in a white robe only.....Totally inappropriate and UNPROFESSIONAL to BOOT.
Was pleasantly surprised by this well run hotel in Raton. They have managed to avoid the drop-off in service that we have noticed in recent years. The place was clean and everything was as it should be. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Will definitely stay here again. The property is dated, but refurbished and nice. Nostalgia hit me hard as I remembered how excited I was to stay at a place like this as a kid in the 70s, would have been too much if they had a video arcade, lol.
Booking the hotel i saw how they advertised family friendly and pool as amenities. When I arrived i checked the pool was with door open and when i returned they had placed a sign that the pool was closed. The pool now in many areas they advertise but they always say it’s under maintenance. The excuse they use to not provide the amenities they advertise. They also refused to refund me so i can go to another place that did have the pool available.
The staff is very professional in getting my reservation straightened out I'd made the wrong reservation for the wrong date and they were very helpful and very friendly. They went over and above their duties as front desk ... I will be coming back soon! I stay in Raton once or twice a month for business and this will be my go-to hotel Motel.

The motor inn was easy to find. If you are heading north on 25 take the last exit for Raton; if you're heading south on 25 take the first exit for Raton. There was hot coffee and a cold breakfast. Quite appropriate. The owners were gracious and accommodating. The rooms were thematically decorated.
Unique won’t fine another accommodation with historic value and a most varied in talent couple who really know what there doing when it comes to creating a pleasant lodging, I personally am sure these two would’ve ran a hell of a hotel when America was of good morale
Feels like we are on the “Cars” movie set. True slice of Americano but with a modern twist. Each room is themed; we stayed in the Matador room. Bed was heavenly. Less than a mile walk to restaurants. Beats the chain hotels hands down!
After booking the confirmation said checkout time was from 230p-3p which was four hours earlier. Tried to call and left a message that was never returned. Found a much nicer hotel very close and they were very sweet there!
Location in historic town of Raton. Lovely home and quiet setting. Every room has it’s own character. Comfortable bed, and delicious breakfast. The hosts are personable, and made me feel at home.
This is a typical, needs updating, Raton motel BUT, the Restaurant is very nice. Mexican décor and attentive staff. Good food, lots of locals. This is the highlight. Good pet area.
We booked online. When we got to the hotel we were told they were sold out. We drove all day and we’re exhausted. The lady behind the desk was so rude about it!
