It was unusual as it was like a former apartment complex so we had the top floor rooms in a condo of 3 storeys. Large clean room, great large shower room, a couple of armchairs, balcony, separate small room with fridge, microwave. Quiet and great location a few min walk from Point Pinos - Pacific Coast, birdwatching, beach. Breakfast available. Avoids the traffic in Monterey with easy access back off the penninsula to the CA1.

This place is a true gem, right by the sea with direct access to the beach set in amazing grounds. We only didn’t 1 night here but wished we’d had more. The main hall was a great social area with pool tables and open fires. The onsite cafe is lovely with nice food. All the staff were friendly. Good parking

We had a wonderful stay at the Martine Inn. We had a room facing the courtyard, which was wonderful and peaceful. Breakfast was a treat, served in a room with stunning views of the sea—absolutely gorgeous!!! We appreciated the convenience of leaving our car in the hotel's parking lot, allowing us to explore the beautiful surroundings on foot. During our visit, we were thrilled to see many seals and their adorable pups playing on the sandy area between the hotel and Lovers Point! We were thoroughly pleased with our experience!

We loved Pacific Grove.
We loved Pacific Grove. The downtown is charming, the two restaurants we ate in were very good, Toasties and the Monarch Pub and Restaurant. The rocky coast is gorgeous with walking trails along it that go for miles.
It was very easy to get around.

Awesome ocean views (especially at sunset!), great natural history museum, delicious seafood. Lovely, walkable town (love the info on the old houses saying when they were built, and who the original owner was.) Kayaking, snorkeling, bicycling, golf, butterfly viewing all easily accessible and enjoyable almost year round.
Car is recommended, although to be fair I've never tried the public transportation system.

I love all the different types of shops the downtown has to offer. There are also excellent restaurants & little spots for coffee or tea. I love that it's near the seaside & some forest areas to explore. Downtown Monterey is just a very few minutes away. It's all a very relaxing part of the world.

Pacific Grove is a beautiful coastal town with many things to do and see. Just enough of what is needed is nearby but not overdone like a gas station on every corner, etc. The Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary is an amazing experience if you visit during the monarch migration season. Thousands of monarch butterflies to see. The beaches are stunning along the coastline and Monterey is just a stones throw away which offers more adventures. You really can't go wrong with this idyllic place.

One of our favorite places to visit.
One of our favorite places to visit. Pacific Grove has a real small town feel, but has wonderful restaurants (Red House Cafe, Bookworks Coffee) and the walking trail along the ocean is one of my favorite things to do. It is also close to other amazing places like Point Lobos, Big Sur and Pinnacles National Park. Try renting an E-bike and riding the stunning 17 Mile Drive from Pacific Grove to Carmel and back.

From our motel it was a short distance (walkable for young legs) to the ocean and the butterfly grove. There are great restaurants in Pacific Grove and nearby. Red House Cafe, Beach House (Lover's Point), Fishwife Restaurant are the ones we enjoyed. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Drive carefully, deer roam all around town night and day.
Great contemporary room, nicely decorated! Love bed and linings. Feeling of 5 stars hotel inside rather than simple motel (as it's outside look). We have corner room, so quite and looking towards the forest, with a little balcony. Outskirt of city, tranquil feeling but close to all Monterey attractions. Loved Pacific Grove with its 100 yo preserved houses and 10 min drive to the beautiful coastal hikes. Start from Lover Point, pass Kissing rocks towards John Denver Memorial. Very nice place!
The room was delightful. Add that you have an elevator to your description on Booking and that it goes to the parking area!!! What a find!
Thank the man with the PT Cruiser at the desk for being so nice to us!!!
Also, I confess. I took your last deer brochure. The deer are one of the main reasons I visit Pacific Grove!! I saw 13 on Tuesday and 13 on Wednesday and I think only one of them was seen on both days!!!
Excellent stay in this hotel.
The room totally exceeded my expectations. Room is spacious, nice and welcoming.
The bed is very comfy and we had a good night sleep.
the area is very quiet.
Hotel is right next to a restaurant but the restaurant closes at 7pm and opens on Fridays to Sundays.
From the hotel, we walked to the beach which is about 10-15 mins away.
We can see the sunset there.
This was probably my 10th stay at the Rosedale. I was in the area on business. If you’re looking for solitude, look no further. The beds are comfortable, rooms are well taken care of. To put it in to perspective, I had a room at another hotel in Pacific Grove that my company paid for that was so bad I left and went to the Rosedale and paid for the room myself.
The location, decor and breakfast! Right by the beach.... You can get a prime view of sunrise (not sunset). Free street parking and the grounds are so inviting. It's easily the prettiest sight as you drive along the Pacific Grove. Breakfast was great....best coffee ever. Victorian decor is so beautiful and the room is clean and well set up. I loved it!
Comfy beds, amazing breakfast (the ladies working the kitchen were very nice too!). Shared areas were clean and relaxing and the garden was really nice for coffee or a break after exploring for the day. St. Angela is walking distance to almost everything in Pacific Grove and downtown Monterey so you can't go wrong with the location!
The hotel was good value for money and we had a good night there. It's quite expensive to stay around Carmel, so this place offered good rate for what it is. As some reviews say, it's dated with a few 'maintenance' issues. However the staff was very nice and beds are comfy. All we needed for a one night stay.
Great location, lots of good restaurants within 5 mins walk. Hotel rooms were lovely, comfy bed, coffee and tea always available. Breakfast excellent and extra touch of cheese and wine early evening was fantastic. Thoroughly recommend, much better than a soulless motel!
Comfortable. Nicely-equipped kitchenette. A good location in Pacific Grove - quiet, away from the downtown bustle, within walking distance of the monarch grove, and a short drive to shops and restaurants, the Asilomar beach, and the wonderful Ocean View waterfront.
It was half price of other places and it was nice. Have stayed in a more expensive place in Pacific Grove and this was better. Do not expect a fancy hotel, but it was clean, had a terrasse, good bed, coffee machine, fridge, and shower. Worth every penny. Thank you.
A really old fashioned and charming hotel. Good off road parking and very pleasant and welcoming staff. Lovely dining room offering breakfast with sea views. Nice well kept garden area and lovely old fashioned walnut room which was dated but comfortable.
The room was very spacious and the bed very comfortable. There was a large fridge, and a microwave that we did not use. The location was perfect in Pacific Grove, close to everything, and very quiet. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Two restaurant options within walking distance, and downtown Pacific Grove is a short drive away. You can also walk to the beach to catch the sunset. The pool was warm, the hot tub was clean, and the staff were great.
Excellent!!! Super clean and very friendly staff. It was great having a small kitchen and two bedrooms. The outside is lovely with many places to sit and enjoy the beauty of Pacific Grove
The staff was very nice. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pans and utensils. The location is perfect! You are within walking distance to the beach and downtown Pacific Grove.
Beautiful location in Pacific Grove, which is a lovely quiet part of Monterey. The manager takes excellent care of guests and couldn't be more helpful. Fireplace is a nice extra.
