We loved our time at Estero Inn. The location is perfect along the waterfront, there are lots of nice eateries and shops nearby and you can rent boats or kayaks next door.
The staff are lovely, really friendly people, and the rooms are fantastic. The wildlife is spectacular too - in two days we spotted sea otters, sea lions, ospreys, divers and grebes and a bald eagle.
There's so much to explore in the local area. If you like wildlife, you can walk down to the boardwalk trail or drive to the elephant seal viewing point north of San Simeon. Kayaking on the bay is recommended, and good value.

Loved Morro Bay, but wish we'd had more time to visit other places around the area. Easy walk to shops and restaurants on main street. We especially liked Kickers (Tabitha was awesome), The Great American Fish Company, and Blue Sky Bistro. This was our first trip to the area, but it won't be our last.

Morro Bay is a charming small oceanside town.
Morro Bay is a charming small oceanside town. It is quiet, at least in February when we visited. The sea lions and otters are fun to watch and listen to. There are lots of restaurants and bars to chose from for going out. We loved the wine and beer choices at The Savory Palette. There is live music but not on the night we were there.

We were surprised by the small town.
We were surprised by the small town. Great places to eat and buy souvenirs, but best of all was seeing the otters and their cubs up close. We loved it! There were also some harbor seals on the platforms. Guaranteed fun for animal lovers. We also took a walk to Morro Rock and watched the sandbanks and the waves breaking on the rocks. It was great! We had breakfast at Frankie and Lola's Front Street Cafe. We had lunch at Tognazzinis, dinner at The House of Juju and beer at Three Stacks and a Rock Brewing Company.
I love that the staff showed us around the hotel, gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne and chocolates from the candy store downstairs and the location couldn't have been any better (unless we booked the room with the view). We were so close to the stores, view and restaurant that we never had to log anything around with us or use a public restroom. Rooms were very clean and modern. Glad we were able to land this location and hope we can book one with the ocean view next time.
Close to the sea front and wharf. Unfortunately we travelled down from Monterey on C-1 which is closed north of Morro Bay, but you don’t get told this until we were almost on the closure. This meant we had to go back to Monterey some 50 miles and reroute via the C-101. Hence we arrived in Morro Bay very late and very tired and thus missed having a good look around the local area. Room was very comfortable.
Fair enough, I spent just one night here. It's a modern and clean two-story motel-style hotel with complimentary courtyard parking. For that , the price is absolutely okay.
However, it's worth noting that some guests, particularly long-term residents, can be challenging. The potential for nightly disturbances may arise if the hotel management isn't proactive in addressing such issues.
Great hotel. Met our needs perfectly. I was road tripping in California with my 2 grown up children and we all rated this hotel as the best hotel we stayed in (out of 6 in total).
Morro Bay is great little town and we were all disappointed it was only a one night stop.
Would recommend this hotel!!
Cute hotel in Morro Bay, centrally located so you can easily walk to the waterfront and all the other attractions the town has. You could even easily walk to the beach by the rock if you were up for a bit longer of a hike. Room was nice, and a very friendly cat greeted us just after we checked in.
loved this hotel!! ive stayed in about every hotel in morro bay since i was a kid until now and this has got to be the best hotel ive stayed in ever!! so close to embarcadero shops and the rock just down the block!! loved this getaway with my boyfriend. no complaints!!
We had a very nice large quiet comfortable room. The staff was very friendly and professional. We felt welcome and will definitely return to this hotel. The location is excellent for wandering around Morro Bay without using a car.
