I booked the room for two days, before reading the reviews, and then became a little worried after reading them, on my way to the property. When I arrived, I explained to the man (Patel) at the front desk that I was worried, since I booked the room BEFORE reading the reviews, but that as long as the room was clean, he would not receive any complaints from me. He was very nice and he showed me 3 rooms and allowed me to select one that I liked the most. My stay was comfortable, the room was clean, everything in it worked, and it was quiet. I requested a blanket the night I checked in and was given one, but the house keeper came into the room the next day when I wasn't there and took it for some reason. I complained to the girl at the front desk, who first told me they didn't have any blankets, but then said I would receive another one after I explained that I was given one the night before. Lol. Unfortunately, nobody ever showed up with it. So I complained to Patel about it later, and he brought me one right away. I assume he was the owner, and he was a nice man and very reasonable. I would stay there again, in fact, I already booked a 3 day stay there in the near future. Don't be an asshole when speaking to the owner, and you will probably enjoy your stay.

The house is beautiful and the owners clearly put their heart and sole into this space. Furthermore, the owners themselves are lovely and very accommodating to specific needs, such as food allergies, room preferences, etc.
The rates are reasonable, and it's located only a couple of blocks from State St in Media, where all of the town's restaurants and shops are.

There is a courtesy bus to the hotel. You phone the reception desk and they tell you where to wait and how long the bus will be. The staff on reception are helpful and professional. My reason for staying was because I missed my connection. I booked a room last minute in the evening. The room was large - two queen beds and a lounge area. The room was clean and the bed I slept in comfortable.
Breakfast was a typical airport hotel help yourself. The coffee was good and the oatmeal how I like it.
The reception staff looked after my hand luggage whilst I went out for the day until my flight. All in all I would recommend staying at this property.

Room was a good size with nice amenities: working desk, comfortable reading chair with tray, lots of room to put a suitcase for unpacking. Nice tub/shower. Very clean.
Loved the bed!! Had a Great nights sleep. Pillow was great also...
Did not think to highly of the NO COFFEE policy. That Stinks. There was none available at the office either. We had breakfast at the ROOSTER RESTAURANT. Girls were friendly and great service. We bought our morning coffee there.

Media is a quaint town with history.
Media is a quaint town with history. There are lots of interesting restaurants and sights for shopping, walking. We loved the Italian Restaurant called Adriano on Olive street. There is a shop on State Street called Earth and State that features local pottery and art. Of course, there is WaWa for local convenience and coffee.

Our room was absolutely filthy.
Our room was absolutely filthy. White top covers on both beds were super dirty so i imagine the sheets couldnt be clean. The carpet was soooo stained and filthy... And to top it off there were roaches crawling on the wall and dresser smh!!!! The hallway had a cart with dirty linen, trash, and dishes all mixed in with the toiletries that go in your room... Mind you we didnt check in till 11pm so the cleaning staff was long gone. If they even have cleaning staff as nasty as it was...ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!! WE DID NOT STAY, WE GOT A REFUND

This is a beautiful area - the Inn is conveniently located within a short drive to so many wonderful restaurants and other shops. Only a 30 minute drive Longwood Gardens and not far from Ridley Creek and so many other local parks and attractions such as Brandwine Valley and easy to drive to Philadelphia. Very close to shopping and major roads.

Media is a lovely city as I am very fond of old buildings, and diverse architecture. Meter parking isn't too expensive, thus one can wander around the downtown; numerous stores and eateries. Lunch at Brick and Brew was good, great brisket on a bun, loved the tables and general decor and music. Enjoyed dinner at Fellini's Cafe, I would recommend the Mahi Mahi dish. Loved our waiter who had the cutest Italian accent.

Media is a lovely small town with shops, boutiques, restaurants, a state park with beautiful trails--Ridley Creek State Park--and gorgeous countryside surrounding it filled with stone houses and farms. We loved Fellini's Café and the Deals Store, both on State Street. Getting around Media was easy. Walking around Ridley Creek State Park was fun. The proximity to Philadelphia is great in case you want to go to the city for anything.
Wonderful welcome from Z to this amazing house. We loved the Renaissance Revival room with its own balcony. The breakfasts were really special with a different cooked dish every morning. Monika and Z made us feel relaxed and at home. The Gifford-Risley is conveniently located within walking distance of the small town of Media which has many shops and restaurants. Trains from the station run into Philadelphia regularly and there are also trolley buses.
The room was just as advertised, small but obvious from the pictures. The first day/night room did not have an odor but the second day and night is smelled of smoking. I do not smoke so it must of migrated from another room or outside. Staff was always pleasant when contacted when I check in or had a question.
When I travel again and need to be close to Media I will be staying there. Also I asked for a first floor room and go it, thanks.

no breakfasts offered as stated on their wed sight. This was not included with a stay at the motel told by the desk clerk. The sight says cont. breakfast offered.
The best part of the stay was the most relaxing bed. the only thing the bed did come with a blanket and none were available for use.
The hotel did not offer breakfast even though it was advertised that way on Priceline. But I did like that the room had a mini fridge. I also liked that it was right across the parking lot from a diner and a pizza place. It had a TV.
Just a unique place. I sat by the fire. Looked at all the art. I snuggled in bed. I walked around the area which is very pretty in the fall. I talked to the hosts who are very interesting. We’re going to try to go back in the spring.
Z and Monica are exceptional hosts! They made us feel extremely welcome. An early breakfast was prepared for us as we had an early departure on our schedule for the day. Thank you so much for an awesome stay in Media, PA!
Friendly staff. Easy check in/out. Room was updated, beds/pillows comfortable. Like the big bottles of soap, lotion etc in the bathroom. Nice big breakfast area with lots of choices for breakfast!
I didn’t even stay the night at all.. no one was at the desk I waited 30 mins ans finally left.. put in cancellation.. it’d the worst hotel/motel I have ever gone to in my whole life.. the worst
Z and Monica took such good care of us. They are hospitable and add to the unique experience. Thank you for making this a special trip while we visited schools in the area.
