I loved the quaintness of my room. It was like coming home for a visit to your grandma's house. The decor is country chic, and I loved the chandelier hanging in the bathroom.

The dates of the yearly draining of the lake should be made PUBLIC and OBVIOUS to those who are booking properties during that time period. We were very disappointed to find out (after it was too late to reschedule or cancel) that the lake, which was a major reason we wanted to go to Lake Lure, was to be a mud puddle during our stay and we wouldn't be able to do the boat tour. I feel like this should be disclosed on the Booking website so renters can decide whether they want to choose a different date. We loved La Strada, the Flowering Bridge, and River Watch restaurant.

The area is really nice.
The area is really nice. The hotel stay was very nice, as was their pool and Tiki Bar. However, that's where it ends. Lake Lure (as well as Chimney Rock) has no where to eat breakfast, as everything seems to open at 11 or after. The swimming area of Lake Lure closes too early (5:30 - we arrive at 5:47) and is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. So we basically drove 3 hours to swim at the hotel, not eat breakfast and leave. We ended up driving to Lake James and swimming there for free (Lake Lure charges to use their beach).

It was an excellent three night stop on the way to our final destination. Perfect location and the lower lake has alot to offer. I wish we found it earlier in our stay. I would definitely return to this property with my family.
During the current pandemic there isn't much open to dine out,,,,most only open on weekends..Our stay was M-Thurs. We easily adapted going to the local grocery & cook in a fully equipped kitchen . The home has some necessary items there so we didn't have to purchase,,salt, pepper, spices, etc.

Very nice place to visit to do just about anything.
Very nice place to visit to do just about anything. If you would like to relax, go to the lake, go fishing, go on a boat ride, explore caves, walk around - there's something for everyone. There's a very charming town that has nearby restaurants, and a grocery store not far away.

Our family enjoys the small-town feel.
Our family enjoys the small-town feel. Around 1500 folks live there year-round. We love nature and being near the water and mountains. Chimney Rock is a very short drive and perfect for specialty shops and antique shopping.

Incredible scenery of mountains, rock formations and sparking lake. The flowering bridge was a lovely surprise, the boat tour was great and the walking paths. If you have never been to Chimney Rock ... it Is so worth it!
We loved our stay at Grafton Lodge. Breakfast was fantastic and the company and conversation were great. As first-timers to the area, we loved the location! So close to trails and Lake Lure and Chimney Rock villages. Close to many dining locations. The room was well-equipped with everything you might need for your stay. The bed was comfortable with high-quality linens. The hosts were amicable and super helpful with advice and recommendations!
We loved the location, the hummingbirds on arrival, Rich's cookies, our room. But best of all was the lovely welcoming chats over the most delicious breakfasts! Kim helped us with ideas of what to do each day while Rich cooked up a wonderful breakfast all with local ingredients. A perfect place to explore lake lure and the mountains from.
Great hotel, located about 1/2 mile from Lake Lure swimming area. Great swimming pool and a Tiki Bar right beside. The bar was great and served a great cheeseburger, though I found it a bit expensive at $18 (w/fries). The hotel looks older from the outside, but our room was nicely updated, clean and beds were comfortable.
The property is in a great location at the resort. Plenty of things to do on the resort and within a short drive. The house was very comfortable, clean, very nicely appointed, and fully stocked with the owners providing access to a lot of extras like pool noodles and towels, spices, cooking tools and shower supplies.
The condo was recently updated with new furnishings and everything was cozy. The porch is nice and has a great breeze being a corner unit. It is located about 3 mins from Rumbling Bald Resort. The complementary passes were a nice benefit.
The location and accommodations were good. Very clean, easy to access, and plenty of parking. The resort itself is beautiful with access to golf, boating, two lakes, walking/hiking, athletic activities, and a beach on Lake Lure.
Cottage was very comfortable and nicely decorated. All the touches of home and then some. The views of lake Lure were fabulous and the deck, fire pit area and charcoal grill made it hard to leave and go sightseeing.
Beautiful home, location and view! House bad everything we needed and more. Game room was a blast, porch was perfect for relaxing, and the resort amenities were just icing on the cake. A++
Me and my family enjoyed the stay here this house has everything that you would need while on vacation very very impressed this will be my go to spot when I’m visiting the lake Laura area
The location was convenient to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. The screened in porch was nice to sit out on and drink my coffee in the morning. Beds were very comfortable.
