We enjoyed the view of pool, courtyard gardens & ocean. The Tiki torches and firepit areas were delightful along with the live music every evening. There was plenty of seating around the pool and access to activities & a nice sidewalk along the beach. Overall very comfortable, clean, with good service and food.

Location was all this place had. Staff was great, when we arrived and got our room the air didn't work and after an hour of working on it, couldn't fix it, so they compted use a better room.

The location was perfect!The apartment-lovely, the furnishings, art and decor-"Island" inviting. With only 225 steps from my Lanai to the beach, the ocean was soothing, and the trade wind breezes, refreshing. Sunrises were breathtaking. Would come here again and again!

Kapaa is often overlooked for the northshore and Poipu.
Kapaa is often overlooked for the northshore and Poipu. It is actually the pulse of the island and you will run into more locals here. Restaurants are conveniently located and a wide variety at decent prices.

Kapaa is a great central location.
Kapaa is a great central location. The traffic is bad, but most people drive with the Aloha spirit and let you merge in front of them. I would stay there again but definitely avoid booking anything through Booking.com! Finding a reasonably-priced place to eat is a real challenge, not only in Kapaa but everywhere on the island. I spent almost $100 for two of us to eat at a Mexican restaurant.

This was a great location for our stay on the island of Kauai. FIfteen minutes from the airport in Lihue. Easy access to the bike path and beaches. Great little downtown with excellent coffeeshops, shopping and restaurants.

We chose Kapaa because of it's proximity to the beach and to the Hindu Monastery which we visited multiple times. Turned out to be a great choice because it also seemed quieter compared to the beach crowds we saw in Poipu or Hanalei/Princeville. There's a grocery in walking distance to the hotel, small stores as well in a strip mall, great restaurants (the top rated Mexican restos are in Kapaa) all at fairly reasonable prices compared to what we saw in other parts of the island.

Was only there for 2 nights to attend a family wedding. Stayed there many years ago for a week. Handy location and if you're staying longer or with a family it is very comfortable with plenty of space for 4 people.
Very accommodating hosts, they provided us with all the essentials- coffee, some fruit including fresh cut pineapple, cookies and lots of great advice on where to go & what to see. Liked location, very quiet, but yet very centrally located to the town of Kapaa. The koi pond & garden area is absolutely breathtaking & so relaxing. Wish we could have stayed longer. We hope to come back to Kauai & we know where we’re staying!
The rooms are spacious and clean, it has free parking on site and the staff are very friendly, but the real plus points for this hotel lay outside - 2 pools, jacuzzi, beachfront access with beautiful sunrises, nice garden area with lawn games, and great restaurant on site. You can hire bikes for free and ride the coastal path which is lovely. And is near to a number of restaurants and only 15 mins from airport.
The best thing about this hotel is the location. Its right on a beach and a walking trail. It's also within walking distance to town. The front desk staff were very friendly, and the banana bread was a plus. There is no breakfast, but there is banana bread many mornings. It looks nice from the outside. There are chickens and roosters wandering around the property, that was pretty cool. The pool was nice.
The location was great! The room was great! The price was great (for Kauai). Really recommend it, especially for people that will be out and about during the days (it’s not a resort hotel so whilst the facilities are very good there are no bars, activities (other than morning yoga) on-site. But the room was large, had a balcony with great views, a coffee maker and a small fridge!
Only 20 min from the airport; perfectly situated half way to travel to the different attractions in Kauai. Nice large convenience store/market steps away. Friendly staff. The beach is close by, a short walk across a field of tall grasses. Very "chill" beach vibe with lots of vegetation including pine trees, had a "wild" solitary feel to it and it was almost private.
This is our favorite location we have ever stayed in Kauai. Being able to walk 20 steps to a perfect beach is unbeatable. The hotel provided a complementary crib for my 1 year old (very helpful) and was walking distance to the marketplace with multiple restaurants and an actual market (which is great because you can’t get a rental car on the island right now).

There is no A/C in the unit but ceiling fan is in each room. Nice and breezy at night.

The staff from the family run hotel were very friendly and helpful. Our ocean view room had a sensational view and very close to the beach for a swim. The free push bikes were a great way to see the coast from the coastal path. The historic village, Kapaa, was a very laid back friendly town.
Central, walkable location. Proximity to markets, shops, restaurants, cycling path, and beaches make this area of Kauai a place where a car isn’t required. A great place for relaxing and enjoying beach views and an easy walk to old Kapa’a town. Lovely property, friendly, helpful staff.
Waking up with the sunrise and ocean right outside our room our first morning on Kauai was wonderful. The bed was comfortable. The staff was great. We needed the AC so we were very happy to have it. Convenient to food after our long flights too.

The location was very good just across the road from the beach a easy 5 minute walk to the cheaper supermarket a more expensive one was closer. The place three small pools and two hot tubs which you could use.
Cosiest room on our entire stay on the vacation. We had a full garden to ourselves which lit up at night and a pond with large fishes. This was the best and most genuine room on our entire stay in Hawaii.
Location on the beach. Close to many nice restaurants. Kauai is very beautiful and I highly recommend a visit to the island. Islander Resort Oceanfront #149 is a good base for exploring the island.
