Hilton Garden Inn Des Moines Airport, hotel in Indianola

Conveniently adjacent to the Des Moines International Airport, this hotel boasts an on-site restaurant and free airport shuttle service. Each guest room features a flat-screen cable TV.

There was no breakfast. Booking.com booked me into a room in a hotel that was closed. Specifically, I was booked into the Des Moines Iowa Airport Doubletree Hotel for a one night stay February 9-10. When I arrived on February 9, it was closed, pending completion of a renovation project. How do I get my funds returned? The cost was $177.07 USD.

Baymont by Wyndham Des Moines Airport, hotel in Indianola

Featuring a heated indoor pool, hot tub, and dry sauna, this hotel is located just off Highway 5 and 16 km from downtown Des Moines. Free WiFi, parking, and airport shuttle service are provided.

Solid facility with well-trained and competent staff. Bonus that it is adjacent to headquarters of a respected truck line in DSM. [Yes, their trucker's behavior is noted at such facilities, and misbehavior is not acceptable. Company rules.] As a result, the symbiotic relationship benefits all. Including us who fill out the rooms available. Points added for refillable soap and consumables containers. Breakfast steward highly professional.

We came here for the Des Moines Metro Opera performances. There is nothing in Indianola other then a small National Balloon Museum and Simpson College. The Des Moines metro Opera was amazing. The Blank Center is a wonderful small theatre and the performances are as good an anything in New York or London.

    It was clean.

It was clean. They were very conscientious of the Covid 19 guidelines! Even down to the new pens in a container marked new to use for signing your contract to disposing of them in another container marked used! Beautiful property! Would recommend to everyone!

Enough restaurant choice, only choice missing was more of a breakfast option, such as Perkins, Village Inn, etc. The meals we did have were excellent, downtown is very nice and clean, lots of food options.

I went to college here more than 30 years ago, so it was fun to see the town again. It's quite easy to navigate the town. There are TONS of restaurants and shopping along Jefferson Way (Hwy. 65/69) the main drag through town. We ate at Brickhouse Pizza & Pub on the square and it was delicious...highly recommend. If you have a family, you need to plan a visit to the college campus and/or during the Balloon Classic.
