Short staffed, had to wait 20 minutes just to check out. Ended up just leaving key on the side of counter in an open clear box.

My daughter had surgery one day and a Dr. appointment the next. We stayed one night. We ate at the Mexican restaurant that you can walk to from the hotel and it was delicious. We ate breakfast across the street at the Waffle House and as always, it was delicious. The folks in Hillsborough were all really nice and always smiling.

My room was downgraded because they did not have a suite available when I got there and didn't refund me the difference. They took my payment from my card before I arrived when the website clearly stated pay when u arrive. They didn't have room keys bc the key maker was down so they had to manually let you in your room any time u left. Very annoyed. The room was ok for the quick trip that I needed it for. ( I'm from TN and had to come to NC to pay a speeding ticket) won't do it again!

Property was clean but could be better maintained.
Property was clean but could be better maintained. Minor imperfections gave it a shabby feel. No major issues. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was minimal continental plus a waffle maker. No eggs etc. Rooms are small and minimal amenities. No fridge. No microwave.
Fine for a quick cheap no frills overnight stay.. would not want to stay longer.

I liked all aspects of Hillsborough.
I liked all aspects of Hillsborough. We enjoyed the huge selection of restaurants. We ate at the Mexican restaurant located down the hill and near the entrance of the hotel. We also ate at Wendy's and Hardees which were very near the hotel. Getting around Hillsborough was quite easy as we followed the very frequent and clear signs on the roadside. One of our favorite activities in the area was visiting and shopping at the Tangier Outlets.
We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite. It was wonderful! The hot tub was very nice, the room was one of the biggest I've ever stayed in my life, and they had three flat screens in each room. Hillsborough is a very cute little historical town. You can definitely spend a day or two in the town and see what it offers. They preserved the historical architecture of the town. Also, the Colonial Inn's complimentary cinnamon rolls were magnificent. I highly recommend a stay over there.
Early procedure scheduled at UNC-Hillsborough. This location very convenient and the room was very clean. Our check in was late and left very early next day. In view of the arrival /check out time we had no contact with personnel (except check in attendant) we were satisfied with the facility and would return if necessary.
Comfortable, clean, safe. The bed was very comfortable, one of the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve ever slept in. Front desk staff were some of the nicest hotel staff I’ve ever encountered. The noise the elevator makes made me and my fiancé giggle a lot because it sounds like a little duck.
It was a great little hotel for the price. The room was pretty smmal, but it was clean and the staff was kind. It was good that it was practically next to the interstate and there was a great mexican restaurant just next to the hotel.
I loved the cinnamon rolls for breakfast. The food was excellent for dinner as well. It was a fantastic location to explore the shops and restaurants of historic Hillsborough. The shower was incredible.
CHARGED ME A $50 DEPOSIT, SAID THEY SMELLED SMOKE, I ONLY STAYED THERE FOR HRS, DID NOT STAY OVERNIGHT, WOULD NOT REFUND MY DEPOSIT, I DID NOT SMOKE IN ROOM, CALLED HOTEL AND THEY WOULD NOT LISTEN TO ME
Staff were very friendly, hotel was I. A great location for our needs, breakfast selection was good, appreciated the large shower and variety of pillow options in the room.
The staff were friendly, very welcoming and helpful.
