Location. Convenient to Rappahannock Wildfowl Carving Festival in White Stone, several locally-owned restaurants and antique shops. Superb multi-course breakfasts with tasty quiche, crepes, frittata, hand made scones, French beignets and fruit creations. Welcoming hosts. Inviting, comfortable rooms and beds. Very cute, quiet place. We stayed in the John Lennon room. All the rooms have a theme. Beach there and places to sit around a bonfire. We didn't because it was chilly and we were tired. Excellent place to watch the sunset. Would stay there again.
Heathsville is a town full of wonderful people. I would particularly recommend the Northumberland Historical Society, open Wednesday-Friday. Very knowledgeable members happy to help you with your family searches. Great resources there! The library is also quite nice with a friendly staff.
