Friendly savvy staff; large easy room with a very comfortable bed (nice cotton sheets). Fridge and microwave in the room. Everything felt clean and simple. And they let us charge our electric car on the outside socket - a huge relief as there was no public charging station in Independence.

On arrival I had paid in advance through Bookings but they did not have it. I showed the front clerk the bookings email being paid. Also showed my banks statement showing paid.
I still had to charge the room again.
Waiting to see if the Roadway Inn charge goes through. It shows pending at this time.
The room was supposed to be non smoking, but it smelled of smoke possibly on the curtains. As I only stayed one night It was tolerable.
The young woman at the front desk was very nice and tried her best to help with the charges. She co tasted her boss fir what to do and was told to charge again.
The room was clean and good for the cost. The location was quiet and did not seem in a bad area.
Actually abuts the police station parking g lot next door!
Plenty of food and other convinces in the area without long drives the low cost and clean room makes this a good choice for a few day stay

When we ate dinner in a resturant in Galax, we could not get across the road to head back to the inn. We had to go in a direction away from the Inn because of the median. We had to go nearly a mile to find a place to turn around and go back to the Inn.

Love the downtown area. Centrally located to Blue Ridge Parkway. 15 minutes to the Blue Ridge Music Center with FREE local music daily from Noon to 4PM.
Great restaurant next to the Rodeway Inn. Wonderful walking/running trail 1/4 mile from hotel that goes on for 30 miles, an old train track path.
The check-in process was quick and easy. The staff was super nice and helpful. We asked for recommendations for restaurants and the front office assistant was super informative about the area and local restaurants. The breakfast area was spacious and the breakfast was very nice. Little touch to mention was the fruit bowl by the elevator with positive messages written on the fruit, very nice touch. Love that it is pet friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable.
Friendly, welcoming staff and pristine atmosphere. Lots of extra little touches like motivational phrases on the bananas, fruit infused water, etc. Felt very clean. Breakfast had all the things. Definitely one of the best I've had. It even had chocolate chips for the waffles! The duvet on the bed was wonderful. Probably my favorite covering ever in a hotel I've stayed in. Would definitely stay there again. Overall vibe was very nice.
The breakfast was exceptional. The eggs were hot and fluffy, sausage gravy was good, fried red potatoes and onions were delicious, and the smoked sausage was tadty. Not to mention the hot biscuits. They had a wide selection of food that was impressive. Even had little milk cartons to drink, which I always enjoy milk with my meal. They had snacks, fruit, coffee, teas and fruit infused water available 24 hours. The hotel was clean.
Normally hotels edit their pictures to make it look better than it actually is, not in this case. Washington Inn is even more beautiful than what the pictures show. The New River view is breathtaking! The room was very clean. All our friends and family were amazed by the photos we took there and they are already planning to stay there. We highly recommend this place!
We thought this hotel was great for out friend in Galax having a wedding. The room was clean and smelled great. The staff was very friendly and professional. Breakfast was delicious. Clearly the management is doing what it is supposed to do. If we are ever back in the area we would no doubt come here.
The continental breakfast was one of the best we've ever had in a hotel/motel. We looked forward to it each morning. It will definitely be a factor in choosing an Inn to stay in on any future trips.
Hotel door was broke, room phone was broke, headboard was broke. Room restroom was dirty upon my checking in. The staff was very careless with my concerns. Will never stay here again.
